August is here! And, although a change of month does not precede a change in weather, do not despair. Modernista still treats those left to dwell in the Beijing heat to weekend jamborees, jazz soireés, artsy Tuesdays and social Latin and Swing dance evenings.

八月份北京热浪持续，我们的活动安排同样浪接浪，喝酒狂欢，唱歌画画跳舞已是常态，爵士，拉丁，摇滚，摇摆舞会停不了。
AUGUST WEEKENDS
八月狂欢
On the last weekend of the month, we are not yet ready to dismiss the summer as two all time favourites are bringing some extra heat to our stage. On FRI 30TH we let the THE SONS OF THUNDER blow our minds with their 90s indie rock euphoria, only to be challenged on SAT 31ST by a real musical treat, as PEKING FLOYD delivers the best of Pink Floyd's psychedelic rock bliss.
最后一周30号的周五，人气急升的The Sons of Thunder乐队带来欧美大热流行摇滚之夜，全场气氛高涨！31号周六英伦迷幻摇滚之夜，北京平克乐队压轴登场！

This month Modernista will be breathing Jazz. Join us as we welcome great musicians from the vibrant local jazz scene scene well as the international jazz community.
这个八月的Modernista的爵士之夜可谓非常精彩，多位外国到访的爵士大师与常驻本地的爵士好手济济一堂，绝对是爵士迷之福！
To end up a full month of jazz, we bring back the electrifiying Colombian drummer VICTOR BASTIDAS to our stage right back from his summer break on SUN 25TH, while SEESAW QUARTET will take us away with their dream like, Chinese and Western fusion jazz compositions on THU 29TH.

AUGUST DANCES

Cooling winds, cocktails and dance! As the temperatures continue to rise our dance evening's grows more vibrant than ever. Spin along with Cuban salsa every Monday or swing across the dance floor to 1930s Balboa on Wednesday nights.
EVERY MONDAY we indulge in Cuban salsa classes, mojito happy hour and Savor Latino live band! Meet new people and join our SALSA CLASSES taught by Cuban teacher Gustavo. Beginners class starts at 8.30 PM & Intermediate class at 7.30PM. From 10PM we practise our steps to the great sound of the best Latin band in the city, SAVOR LATINO, con V de Venezuela!
每周一的拉丁之夜，我们的萨萨舞课人气高企，型男导师Gustavo继续开班授课，7点半中级班，8点半初级班，详情请扫二维码。
当然，每周的萨萨舞课过后，真正来自拉美的拉丁味道乐队都会震撼登场，为我们带来全北京最狂野的拉丁舞会！
If it is vintage clothing and the elegant sounds of the 1930s America that you crave for, we invite you to join our weekly Balboa Swing Dance evenings, EVERY WEDNESDAY!
This month we spice up our swing dance evening's with a JUNGLE THEMED SWING DANCE PARTY as well as a FREE TRIAL CLASS on WED 14TH, a NEW BEGINNERS COURSE starting on WED 21ST and, on the last swing night of the month, on WED 28TH, we dance away to the fantastic live music of NOAH HOCKER SWING QUARTET.
