This Tuesday’s Songwriter Series brings Zhang Xiaopin to the stage — an independent songwriter whose music shifts easily between stripped-back folk and raw, guitar-driven rock. Joined by Yang Yu on guitar, the set leans into storytelling, contrast, and songs built to be heard up close. Settle in for a night where every lyric lands, and every song feels personal.

ABOUT ZHANG XIAOPIN
Zhang Xiaopin is an independent musician from Taipusi Banner, Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia, and the lead vocalist of the band Sanxian Erpin. Since moving to Beijing alone in 2006 to pursue his musical dream, his work has shifted between sincere folk and raw rock, always searching for the true voice of life and the self. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists such as Chaji Yang and Zhang Qianqian as a guitarist, performed extensively across livehouses and festivals in China, and shared the stage with legendary names like Cui Jian, Face, Beyond’s Yip Sai Wing, Liang Long of Second Hand Rose, Chuanzi, and Buyi. In 2012 he founded Sanxian Erpin, later opening the Sanxian Erpin Music Space in Beijing. His original songs, including “Goodbye Childhood” and “Living,” have won awards in national competitions and earned him recognition on shows such as Sing in the Folk and The Voice of China. In 2020 he signed with UFO Records, released several singles, and in 2021 appeared on Hunan TV. His music has since reached millions of streams on NetEase Cloud Music and Bilibili, and in 2025 he released his physical album In the Heart of the City, continuing to craft music rooted in real life and personal truth.
张小品，独立音乐人，来自内蒙古锡林郭勒盟太仆寺旗，是三弦二品乐队的主唱。自2006年独自来到北京追寻音乐梦想以来，他的创作在朴实的民谣与粗犷的摇滚之间游走，不断探索内心真实与生活的声音。曾为茶季杨、张浅潜等人担任吉他手，并在北京及全国各地的livehouse与音乐节留下足迹，与崔健、面孔、BEYOND叶世荣、二手玫瑰梁龙、川子、布衣等知名音乐人同台演出。2012年组建三弦二品乐队，随后创办北京三弦二品音乐空间，并凭原创作品多次在全国性比赛中获奖，代表作《再见童年》《生活着》等深受听众喜爱，2020年签约飞碟唱片，2021年参与湖南卫视节目录制。近年来，他的音乐在网易云音乐与哔哩哔哩平台上突破百万级播放，2025年发行实体专辑《城市中央》，持续用音乐书写属于自己的生活与理想。
ABOUT YANG YU
Yang Yu is a composer, arranger, guitarist, and educator, born in Beijing in 1981. Since studying composition and modern music in 1999, he has been active in performance, arranging, and production. As the founder and driving force of the band Blue Mist, he later worked with record companies as a composer and arranger. His work spans film scores for Legend of Xiaoxitian Didao, Chai Shengfang, Yan Zhenchang, Smiling with Hidden Blades, and Half a Moon, as well as music for games such as AngerForce: Strikers, Abyss of Reincarnation, and Siege Simulator, earning recognition including a Best Game Music Award. As an arranger, he has contributed to The Voice of China, the theme song of the public welfare program Operation Brightness, and collaborated with artists such as Zhang Yunxin, Yin Rui, Hezi Pei, and Ge Benjun. In recent years, he has also focused on music education, with students admitted to top institutions such as Berklee College of Music and Juilliard, and in 2021 he joined the group LFO as guitarist. Crossing film, gaming, and popular music, Yang Yu continues to craft works that express genuine emotion and powerful storytelling through sound.
杨宇，音乐编曲人、吉他手、教师，1981年生于北京。自1999年起进修作曲与现代音乐，之后活跃于演奏、编曲与音乐制作领域。他曾组建蓝雾色乐队并担任灵魂人物，也在唱片公司任职作曲、编曲。其作品涵盖电影《小西天狄道传奇》《柴生芳》《燕振昌》《笑里藏刀》以及《半个月亮》等影视配乐，并为多款游戏如《愤怒军团：重装》《轮回深渊》《攻城模拟器》创作音乐，曾获最佳游戏配乐奖。作为编曲人，他曾参与《中国好声音》《光明行动》公益活动主题曲，以及为张云馨、殷睿、黑子沛、葛本军等歌手创作作品。近年来，他还参与教育工作，培养的学生考入伯克利、茱莉亚等世界顶级音乐学院，并在2021年加入LFO低频振荡组合担任吉他手。他的音乐横跨影视、游戏与流行领域，始终致力于用声音讲述真挚的情感与故事。
