September has arrived and Beijing is about to wake up from its summer dwell. At Modernista, we welcome back friends and musicians from their summer vacation, enjoying the last weather while it lasts. Let's greet them with weekend jamborees, jazz soireés, artsy Drink & Draw and social dance evenings with everything from Latin rhythms to joyful swing tunes.

BACK TO OLDIES
复古的声音
By the end of the month we make way for some American sounds, pass by the very vocal American 50s, listen to wonderful blues rock and and go disco to the very best of 1970s.
On THU 26TH, Beijing's only a cappella group JING SING is back after a long break. Don't miss out as they spread joyful 50s Doo-Wop tunes, Disney classics and reconverted modern cuts from our bare stage. Right after, on FRI 27TH, we get that Friday Night Fever one more time with THE FLIPSIDE's sparkling 70s disco sound, while on SAT 28TH we make way for THE GREAT BUFFALO BLUES electric sound of americana and blues.

A new semester is about to begin and with it, opportunities for meeting new people and dancing. Spin along with Cuban salsa every Monday or swing across the dance floor to 1930s Balboa on Wednesday nights.
EVERY MONDAY we indulge in Cuban salsa classes, mojito happy hour and Savor Latino live band! Meet new people and join our weekly SALSA CLASSES taught by Cuban teacher Gustavo. Beginners class starts at 8.30 PM & Intermediate class at 7.30PM. From 10PM we practise our steps to the great sound of the best Latin band in the city, SAVOR LATINO, con V de Venezuela!
