After a long nine months without Modernista.. Have you missed us much? We hope so!
Because we have, and to make up for the time lost, we have arranged a full month of amazing events by our favorite artists to share with you and enjoy!
Also this November, there are even more reasons for celebration, as Modernista's awaited reopening comes together with a special date for us...Modernista is now turning nine!
We want to see your smiling happy faces again so, shall you join us for our grand anniversary month? Everything is in the same old place, at our beloved old location of 44 Baochao Hutong.
和老摩分别之久，不知道你有没有想念我们？我们十分想念你们，为了弥补逝去的时光，我们召集了大家最爱的活动和演出，与你共享乐共庆祝。
这个月，也是值得疯狂庆祝的一个月，因为我们终于重新敞开大门，与此同时，我们9岁了！ 我们期待你的微笑，我们等待你的回归，我们在宝钞胡同44号，不见不散。

And on FRI 13TH, Beijing veterans THE REBEL 5 keep on the party vibe, with their explosive rock and funk sounds, and yet one more amazing brand new singer for the record!

Come along, our favorite Queen of Folk EMBER SWIFT will bring her band of brilliant musicians on FRI 20TH. Get ready to be treated to a marvelous night of original electric folk compositions.

On FRI 27TH, let's enjoy tribute band THE LATIN ROCKERS, as they bring us the very best of the 80's and 90's Latin Rock hits, from Soda Stereo and Mana, to Enanitos Verdes and Hombres G. Let your hair loose and singalong till the end of the night with the modern Latinos.

While we were all resting and sheltering away from viral threaths, Beijing's musicians have been all at creative work. The result? So many new bands have been born! Let us here at Modernista introduce you to some of our new favorites!

On SAT 14TH, new vibes continue to spread around as newcomers THE VIBE fill up our weekend with their groovy mix of funk, pop, R&B and soul. Get ready for some classic, sensual, sexy hit tunes at Modernista that night!
周六14号，更新更欢的派对氛围接踵而至，THE VIBE 的黄金曲目，有放克，有流行，有蓝调，也有灵魂。经典与性感同在，燃爆老摩的派对舞台！
Yet one more new band is presenting its debut show at Modernista this month as HINDSIGHT 66' brings an energizing classic rock set on SAT 21ST, powered by dynamic guitar solos and unbreakable harmonies. Everything you want from a rock band, they have it all!
本月最后一个新乐队，是周六21号登场的，各界杰出乐手强强联手的HINDSIGHT 66, 有力的吉他solo和紧密默契的和声，你对摇滚乐队的一切期盼，都能从他们的演出中看到！

No other than long-standing Modernista's pop favorite, STEVIE MAC & THE MAC DADDIES, closing our anniversary month on SAT 28TH with an epic party. Jump along their musical good birthday wishes to us, as Modernista becomes 9!

On THU 19TH, JING & TONIC will bring their show to Modernista's stage for the very first time, be ready to an evening packed full of variety: from comedy, music and some other interesting stuff - there's always something for everyone!
周四19日，JING & TONIC 将开启他们在老摩的首轮大秀，做好准备，一个充满多种有趣综艺的夜晚即将到来：有令人捧腹的单口相声，也有动人悦耳的音乐，还有一些意想不到的趣味惊喜在等待——无论你喜欢哪种综艺，都能在这场演出中找到你的心水！

On THU 26TH, one of the very first shows we ever had in our stage comes back to us as a special anniversary gift. Our friends RAVI & THE SHADOWS will put a spell on us one more time with a mesmerizing and rare shadow puppet performance. Chinese traditional theater play, mixed with experimental music for an interesting modern twist, the experience is a once in a year chance. Make sure you don't miss this one!

How time flies, SUNDAY JAZZ AT MODERNISTA has been our company for the past five years!
In 2019, our stage was filled with more international artists than ever, so every time you can see something new. This anniversary month, we go back to our Beijing roots, as Sunday nights come strong with the best local jazz artists, some of them joining us for the first time. Check them out!

On SUN 15TH, the long standing SEESAW QUARTET will be back to our stage with their dreamy, atmospheric jazz and their captivating fusion of Western and Chinese influences, as talented Huang Ya Qiong joins in on Erhu.
紧接着的周日15号，SEESAW爵士四重奏，将重回老摩舞台，当二胡好手 黄亚琼拉响琴弦，一场中西融合的爵士梦就此展开。
On SUN 22ND, Japanese guitar player SATOSHI KATAOKA's creative jazz tunes will be heard at Modernista one more time. Oldtimer Xiao Dou will join on drums, Hu Hao on bass, and Sejin Bae on piano. A combo that will brighten your winter spirits for sure!

A new cycle is about to begin and with it comes opportunities for learning something new, meeting new people, and dancing. Get moving with some Afro rhythms, spin along with Cuban salsa every Monday, or swing across the dance floor to 1930s Balboa on Wednesday nights.

Modernista has been home to swing dancers and lovers ever since 2011, and we are ready to welcome them back home! EVERY WEDNESDAY, it's SWING NIGHT at Modernista, so bring your favorite skirt, best shirt, and join in some 1930s fun.

Also, EVERY MONDAY we indulge in Cuban salsa classes, mojito happy hour, and Savor Latino live band! Meet new people and join our weekly SALSA EXPERIENCE taught by Cuban teacher Gustavo. Beginners experience starts at 8 PM & Intermediate experience at 7 PM. From 9 PM we practice our steps to the great sound of the best Latin band in the city, SAVOR LATINO!

The event we are definitely most proud of, our beautiful DRINK & DRAW is also finally back EVERY TUESDAY. A real source of creativity and friends, this is one of our favorite nights. Come to enjoy them with us, have a drink, draw, and be part of our community as we discover a new theme, models, and stage set up for you every week!
每周二的前卫绘画工作室，也凯旋归来！一个创意恒生，亲友相随的夜晚，是我们的最爱！让我们继续喝酒画画作乐，每周主题大不一样，现场提供纸笔，同学们自由发挥！
