BACK TO 50'S

As a vintage style bar Modernista brings golden age deco and retro tunes for lovers of music and style of the era.

On SAT 6TH, Beijing’s one and only BACK SEAT BINGO brings it to our stage for the first time! Fridays and Saturdays at Modernista is the place to be. And this special weekend, we will be giving you a night to remember with amazing R&B music and party vibes.

FRI 19TH, music connoisseurs SUGAR HOUSE will have us hitting the floor as they spin the very best of R&B. There will also be a breath taking drag queen performance, so make sure you can make it to Beijing's hottest R&B dance party!

On THU 18TH, one of the very first shows we ever had on our stage will return. Our friends RAVI & THE SHADOWS will put a spell on us one more time with a mesmerizing and rare shadow puppet performance. Chinese traditional theater play, mixed with experimental music wil make for an interesting modern twist, you can't miss that!

JAZZ NIGHTS

In the Beijing hutong, the chill nights will shine with a drink to warm your heart and the sound of jazz.

在北京的胡同深处，伴随着美酒和爵士乐的普通夜晚，也能熠熠生辉。

For the first Sunday of March, young yet experienced pianist Daniel Niu will be showing his talent for the first time at Modernista on SUN 7TH, along Hu Hao on Bass & Yang Chen on Drums.

三月首周日，杰出钢琴家牛天宇，将连同贝斯手胡浩，鼓手杨宸，在7日的老摩舞台首次献演，千万不要错过！

On SUN 14TH, after one year long break, let's welcome Takeshi Sakamoto Trio back to Modernista present his original jazz tunes, along with D-Ray on Bass and Michal Ciesielski on Piano.

周日14日，时隔一年不见，让我们欢迎老朋友坂本健志重返老摩，演奏他最受欢迎的原创曲目，一同的还有贝斯手丁睿和钢琴手Michal Ciesielski.

Coming along, on WED 17TH, a night for SATELLITE TRIO, and their experimental jazz. Japanese guitar player SATOSHI KATAOKA's creative jazz tunes will be heard at Modernista one more time. Old timer Xiao Dou will join on drums and Nathaniel Gao on sax.

紧接而来，周三17日，是专属SATELLITE三重奏的夜晚，除了爵士，还有一些实验性的音乐值得期待！日本吉他手片岡知志再度登台，老朋友小豆和高太行也会加入！

On SUN 21TH, the new trio VOYAGER will bring us some classic jazz; Xing Yifan on bass, Daniel Niu on Piano and Gao Kechao on drums. A combo that will brighten your sunday spirits for sure!

周日21号，让我们欢迎新晋爵士三重奏VOYAGER带来经典爵士，邢一帆的贝斯，牛天宇的钢琴，还有高可超的鼓，强强联手，将会给你的周日夜晚增分添彩。

Last SUNDAY of March, WU YUNAN and his jazz Quintet will be showing classic jazz music at Modernista, for the very first time. Let them brighten our evening with some exquisite jazz tunes and put a nice finish to our month.

三月的最后一个周日，吴云南爵士五重奏首次登台，让我们期待他们与众不同的爵士音调，圆满收尾春日三月。

DANCE EVENINGS

Do you have a goal for the season to learn something new? Maybe something like dancing? Well, now you can!

新的季节，新的目标，不知道跳舞有没有在你的目标清单里？如果有，我们给你准备了机会！

EVERY MONDAY we indulge in Cuban salsa and Savor Latino live band! Meet new people and join our weekly SALSA EXPERIENCE taught by Cuban teacher LIYENNI. Beginners experience starts at 8 PM & Intermediate experience at 7 PM. From 9 PM we practice our steps to the great sound of the best Latin band in the city, SAVOR LATINO!

每周一的拉丁之夜，古巴萨萨舞和拉丁现场！我们的萨萨舞课人气高企，古巴美女老师LIYENNI继续开班授课，7点中级班，8点初级班。当然，9点过后，来自拉美的拉丁味道乐队都会震撼登场，为我们带来全北京最狂野的拉丁舞会！

And on MAR 10TH & 24TH, another different dance is also waiting for you to try: Balboa! Teachers Jeremy & Ximao will guide you through the basic steps and moves, a taster for who are new to this style of swing dancing at 8PM. After 9PM, dancers from all levels are welcomed to join the free entry social dance, also, don't forget selected half-priced cocktails for the whole night.
