SATOSHI KATAOKA 片岡知志

Living and working in New York, Satoshi Kataoka is a guitarist, songwriter and composer. He specializes in jazz performances at The City College of New York, and is under the tutelage of world-renowned musicians such as John Patituci, Mike Holober, Scott Reeves, etc. Tomokazu has worked with many well-known jazz musicians. In 2015, he released his first original album "Fall Into the Place", which was released by American music label Surca and Japanese music lavel Apollo Sounds. The album was recorded with Adam Kolker, Pablo Menares and Allan Mednard. Satoshi is active in the New York jazz music scene, and has performed in prestigious venues such as Iridium, Smalls, Fatcat, ShapeShifter Lab and so on. Performance formats include his own jazz trio, quartet, quintet and other jazz orchestras.

⽣活与⼯作于纽约的⽚冈知志（Satoshi Kataoka) 是一位吉他⼿、作曲家和编曲家。他在纽约市⽴学院（The City College of New York）专攻爵⼠表演，并师承世界知名⾳乐家John Patituci, Mike Holober, Scott Reeves等⼈。⽚冈知志曾与多名知名爵⼠乐⼿合作。2015年他发⾏⾸张创作专辑「Fall Into the Place」，由美国⾳乐品牌Surca与⽇本⾳乐品牌Apollo Sounds发⾏。这张专辑与Adam Kolker, Pablo Menares以及Allan Mednard共同演奏。⽚冈知志活跃于纽约爵⼠圈，曾在 Iridium, Smalls, Fatcat, ShapeShifter Lab等重要场地表演。表演类型包括他⾃⼰的爵⼠三重奏、四重奏、五重奏与其他爵⼠乐团。

NATHANIEL GAO 高太行
SAX 萨克斯

Nathaniel Gao is a saxophonist and composer who has been based in Beijing since 2006. He has been a key contributor to the local jazz scene as both a co-leader of the quintet Red Hand as well as a leader of his own quartet and trio. Additionally, Gao has been active in an eclectic range of other musical projects including Three Sergeants Syndrome, The Beijing City Big Band, Afrokoko Roots and Bu Yiding. He has performed at the Ninegates Jazz Festival, the MIDI Jazz Festival, the Chongqing Jazz Festival, and the Ditan Park Music Festival, Jarasum International Jazz Festival and at major venues in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou. In 2019 Gao and pianist Xia Jia released“Convergence,” an album featuring their original compositions. 

2006年以来活跃在北京爵士音乐界的的萨克斯演奏家和作曲家。作为“红手”五重奏乐队的成员 之一和他⾃己四重奏的主导者，他为北京爵士音乐做出了重要贡献。他参与的 乐队还包括“夏佳四重奏”，Rafal Sarnecki, “Bad Monk”, “大卫”，“北京Blue Note大乐队”，“Three Sergeants Syndrome”，“北京城市大乐队”，“Afrokoko Roots”和“不⼀一定”。他参与了“九门爵⼠音乐 节”，“海⻳岛爵⼠音乐节”，“新泻爵⼠音乐节”，“广州爵⼠音乐节”，“迷笛爵⼠节”和“地坛音乐 节”。2019年4月高太行与钢琴家夏佳发行了原创专辑《汇流》。他现任教于北京现代音乐研修学院。

Drummer Xiaodou. Born in Beijing, he started to learn drumming at the age of 19, under the tutelage of Izumi Koga, Steve Altenberg, Joost van Schaik, Ralph Peterson, and Gene Jackson. With their help, he gradually formed his own sound concept and playing style. Since the beginning of his playing career in 2001, he has received praise and attention, and has frequently exchanged and worked with many well-known musicians at home and abroad. On the basis of traditional jazz music culture, he constantly explores and tries modern art forms and new unknown fields. During his growth, he was mainly influenced by Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, Tony Williams, Philly Joe Jones, Gregory Hutchinson, Marcus Gilmore, Nasheet Waits, Jochen Rueckert, Jim Black, Dan Weiss, Tyshawn Sorey and others.

鼓手 小豆。出生于北京，19岁开始学习打鼓，分别师从于Izumi Koga, Steve Altenberg, Joost van Schaik, Ralph Peterson，Gene Jackson。在他们的帮助下逐渐形成了自己的声音理念和演奏风格。自2001年开始其演奏生涯以来备受好评与关注，频繁与众多国内外知名音乐家进行交流合作。在扎根于传统爵士音乐文化的基础上，不断探索尝试现代艺术形式和全新的未知領域。在成长过程中主要受到了Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, Tony Williams, Philly Joe Jones, Gregory Hutchinson, Marcus Gilmore, Nasheet Waits, Jochen Rueckert, Jim Black, Dan Weiss, Tyshawn Sorey等人的影响。
