This Sunday, we’re absolutely thrilled to have a magical journey of Jazz drums by Victor, and Nathaniel Gao on sax, Noah Hocker on trumpet and Wang chenhuai on bass. Victor embraces different music styles into his original compositions such as comtemporary and classic sounds. He will definitely take your breath away with his modern latin jazz tunes. VICTOR BASTIDAS RODRIGUEZ

DRUMS 鼓

Victor Bastidas received his masters in music with full scholarship from North Illonois University. He has played with many great artists like Michael Breacker and Paquito de Rivera. From 2013 to 2017 Victor lived in Chicago performing regularly with De Paises Project, The Chicago Collective, the Adam Larson quartet, and the Reggie Thomas group. Victor has performed as guest at International festivals such as FIA 2014 in Costa Rica, Jazz al Parque in Bogota Colombia 2012, Cu Jazz Festival in Urbana IL US, 2017, Beijing Jazz Festival 2018, Sam Barsh trio at Xian Music Festival China 2018,  Villavicensio Jazz Festival 2016, and New York winter Jazz Fest with the Edmar Castaneda world Ensemble. He Currently Teaches at The Contemporary Music Academy of Bejing in China where he performs regularly with the local and international artists coming through China. 

Victor Bastidas以优异的成绩毕业于北伊利诺伊大学音乐系取得硕士学位，获得音乐系的全额奖学金和大学奖学金。2013年至2017年间他定居于芝加哥，并且长期与De Paises Project, The Chicago Collective, Adam Larson quartet以及Reggie Thomas group一起演出。多次参与全球范围内各种音乐节和爵士现场演出：哥斯达黎加的FIA 2014，2012年哥伦比亚波哥大的Jazz al Parque，2017年美国Urbana的爵士音乐节，2017年的北京爵士音乐节，2018年的西安音乐节的Sam Barsh三重奏，2016年的Villavicensio爵士音乐节，纽约冬季爵士音乐节等。他目前任教于中国北京当代音乐学院，并定期同中国的本地及国际艺术家合作。

NATHANIEL GAO 高太行

SAX 萨克斯 

Nathaniel Gao is a saxophonist and composer who has been based in Beijing since 2006. He has been a key contributor to the local jazz scene as both a co-leader of the quintet Red Hand as well as a leader of his own quartet and trio. Additionally, Gao has been active in an eclectic range of other musical projects including Three Sergeants Syndrome, The Beijing City Big Band, Afrokoko Roots and Bu Yiding. He has performed at the Ninegates Jazz Festival, the MIDI Jazz Festival, the Chongqing Jazz Festival, and the Ditan Park Music Festival, Jarasum International Jazz Festival and at major venues in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou. Gao graduated from UNI in 2006 with BA in music performance and in 2011 completed an MA in jazz performance at the City College of New York.

高太行，2006年以来活跃在北京爵士乐界的萨克斯演奏家和作曲家。作为“红手”五重奏乐队的成员之一和他的四重奏和三重奏乐队的主导者，他为北京爵士音乐做出了重要贡献。他参与的乐队还包括“夏佳四重奏”，“Bad Monk”, “大卫”，“北京 Blue Note 乐队”，“Three Sergeants Syndrome”，“北京城市大乐队”，“Afrokoko Roots”和“不一定”。他参与了“九门爵士音乐节”，“海龟岛爵士音乐节”，“新泻爵士音乐节”，“广州爵士音乐节”，“迷笛爵士音节”和“地坛音乐节”。高太行毕业于2006年获得美国北艾奥瓦大学音乐表演学士学位，于2011年获得纽约城市学院爵士演奏硕士学位。

NOAH HOCKER

TRUMPET 小号 

Noah Hocker is a professional trumpet player, was born in a musical family in Portland, USA. When he was very young, he believed that music was what he wanted to do all his life. After graduating from high school, he entered the jazz performance major of Temple University in Philadelphia, under the tutelage of the famous American jazz musician trumpeter Terrell Stafford. Long-term jazz bands he has been regularly playing with on global tours include Gordon Webster, Michael Gamble and his rhythm serenade, Jonathan Stout and Hot Sardines. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Best Soloist of the Year by the "World Improvisation" in Madrid, Spain. He recently released his first modern jazz album "Common Thread". Noah Hocker is a versatile and well-rounded musician. His heart is full of deep respect for jazz. In the future, he will be stationed in Beijing, China and the United States.

Noah Hocker 职业小号手，出生在美国波特兰的一个音乐世家。在他很小的时候就认定音乐就是那个他一生想要从事的事情。高中毕业以后进入了费城Temple大学爵士表演专业，师从美国著名爵士音乐家小号手Terrell Stafford。长期固定合作全球巡演的爵士乐队有Gordon Webster，Michael Gamble和他的节奏小夜曲，Jonathan Stout和Hot Sardines爵士乐团。2017年他被西班牙马德里“世界即兴”授予年度最佳独奏者称号。近期他推出了他自己创作的第一张现代爵士专辑 “Common Thread”。Noah Hocker是一位多才多艺且全面发展的音乐人。内心对爵士乐充满了深深的崇敬。未来他将会驻扎在中国北京及美国。

WANG CHENHUAI 王晨淮  

DOUBLE BASS 低音贝斯

Chenhuai Wang began studying music at the age of 14, initially as a guitarist in hometown of Tianjin, China. After high school, Chenhuai attended the Contemporary Music Academy in Beijing where my focus turned to jazz and He began to study double bass. Chenhuai influenced by the music of great musicians such as Charlie Parker, Charlie Haden, John Zorn and Steve Coleman who became a huge impact on his musical content. In 2008 I started undergraduate studies in jazz at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, Netherlands, graduated with a full scholarship in 2013. Upon graduation in 2014, he returned to Beijing to focus on performing. In 2015 Chenhuai began graduate studies in Jazz Performance at Queens College. He had the opportunity to study with Antonio Hart, Ralph Peterson, Michael Moore, David Berkman, Paul Benner, Joe Martin, Dennis Mackrel, Michael Mossman, JorisTeepe, Christophe Lier, etc.. Chenhuai has also played with Erik Truffaz, Don Braden, Matthew Shipp, Ted Nash, Chris Washburne, Theo Croker, etc. in the past few years.

爵士贝斯乐手。从14岁起接触音乐，并于17岁考入北京现代音乐学院，随后音乐生涯的发展转向爵士乐并开始学习低音提琴。2008年王晨淮被荷兰格罗宁根州的克劳斯王子音乐学院特招开始攻读爵士乐学士，2013年以全额奖学金毕业。2015年赴美国纽约皇后学院攻读演奏专业硕士于2017年毕业。曾师从Antonio Hart，Ralph Peterson，Michael Moore，David Berkman，Paul Benner，Joe Martin，Dennis Mackrel，Michael Mossman，Joris Teepe，Christophe Lier等教授，也曾与Erik Truffaz，Don Braden，Matthew Shipp，Ted Nash，Chris Washburne，Theo Croker等众多音乐家合作演出。
