We are not marking only Modernista's jubilee, but also 6th anniversary of the beloved Sunday Jazz series. Special event for seasoned music lovers really made a mark during past years, and we are really looking forward seeing you all for this gig. Cheers to many more Jazz gatherings at our lovely hutong. On this occasion old friends will be gracing our stage. Saxophone master Nathaniel Gao will be joined by guitar player Simone Schirru, Yuan Ye on bass and drummer Victor Bastidas. Perfect set to steal your music craving hearts and to announce all the excitements December is bringing.

在庆祝老摩生日月的同时，今天也将是周日爵士之夜6周年的纪念日。六年以来，各路杰出乐手在这里上演了精彩的演出，也为观众们留下了美好的回忆，希望各位爵士爱好者可以加入我们这个特殊的夜晚，为胡同里的爵士之夜干杯！为了深受欢迎的几个北京爵士乐老手，已经准备好窃取大家对音乐的渴望之心。我们的老朋友，萨克斯演奏家高太行，将和吉他手Simone Schirru、贝斯手袁野和鼓手 Victor Bastidas一起合作，用美妙的音乐，承前启后！

NATHANIEL GAO 高太行

SAX 萨克斯

Nathaniel Gao is a saxophonist and composer who has been based in Beijing since 2006. He has been a key contributor to the local jazz scene as both a co-leader of the quintet Red Hand as well as a leader of his own quartet and trio. Additionally, Gao has been active in an eclectic range of other musical projects including Three Sergeants Syndrome, The Beijing City Big Band, Afrokoko Roots and Bu Yiding. He has performed at the Ninegates Jazz Festival, the MIDI Jazz Festival, the Chongqing Jazz Festival, and the Ditan Park Music Festival, Jarasum International Jazz Festival and at major venues in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou. Gao graduated from UNI in 2006 with BA in music performance and in 2011 completed an MA in jazz performance at the City College of New York.

高太行，2006年以来活跃在北京爵士乐界的萨克斯演奏家和作曲家。作为“红手”五重奏乐队的成员之一和他的四重奏和三重奏乐队的主导者，他为北京爵士音乐做出了重要贡献。他参与的乐队还包括“夏佳四重奏”，“Bad Monk”, “大卫”，“北京 Blue Note 乐队”，“Three Sergeants Syndrome”，“北京城市大乐队”，“Afrokoko Roots”和“不一定”。他参与了“九门爵士音乐节”，“海龟岛爵士音乐节”，“新泻爵士音乐节”，“广州爵士音乐节”，“迷笛爵士音节”和“地坛音乐节”。高太行毕业于2006年获得美国北艾奥瓦大学音乐表演学士学位，于2011年获得纽约城市学院爵士演奏硕士学位。

SIMONE SCHIRRU

GUITAR 吉他 

Simone Schirru is an Italian guitar player who works and lives in Beijing. He has been playing in many festivals and prestigious places around the world crossing Italy, Belgium, United States and India. He also graduated in Master Jazz Guitar at Lemmens Institute. Nowadays he is teaching at the Contemporary Music Academy of Beijing while performing around the city and leading different bands under his name such as RoOom. He is a sideman in severalother bands. He is a member of the BlueNoteBeijing Jazz Orchestra  performing with special guests such as Micheal Mossman, Jaleel Shaw, Ingrid Jansen, Kris Davis, Conrad Herwig and Mark Turner. In February 2017, in order to promote creative jazz music in Beijing, he founded 3C (Creative Composers Collective). During his career, he has also performed with Gene Jackson, Sabir Mateen, David Cossin, Enzo Favata, U.T. Gandhi, Nicola Lancerotti, Nathaniel Gao TaiHang, J Kyle Gregory, Danny Zanker, Li XiaoChuan, ZhangXiongGuan, Dan Kinzelman, Danilo Gallo, Gast Waltzing, Ernest Dawkins, and Kenyatte Abdur Rahman among others.

Simone Schirru是一位工作并生活在北京的意大利籍吉他手。他与众多乐队都有过密切的合作。他们的足迹遍布世界各地许多音乐节和颇具声望的地方，如意大利，比利时，美国和印度。他在比利时Lemmens学院完成了自己的爵士吉他硕士学位。当下，Simone Schirru任教于北京现代音乐学院，并积极活跃于北京的各类爵士音乐演出现场，带领许多以他为首的乐队演出, 例如RoOom。并在许多乐队中都扮演着重要角色。他是BlueNote Beijing大乐队——BNBJO的其中一员，时常会与BNBJO邀请的特别嘉宾同台演出，如Micheal Mossman, Jaleel Shaw,Kris Davis , Ingrid Jansen, Conrad Herwig 和Mark Turner。2017年2月份，为了改善北京的创意爵士音乐氛围，他组建了3C团队，集结了在北京的一批有志于改善中国创意爵士乐环境的作曲家。

YUAN YE 袁野 

DOUBLE BASS 双低音

Yuan Ye excells playing Funk, Bossa, Fusion, Jazz, Pop, and RnB. He is currently the bass player of the CMA Jazz Big Band at the Beijing Modern Music Institute and took part in the 7th edition of Nine Doors Jazz Festival. He also participated at the Beijing Modern Music Festival. During the school times, he won the Jazz Academy Pelizzaro Scholarship. He was a member of the first Jazz seminar held in Shanghai and participated in the exhibition competition for the best solo performance award. With an Australian drummer Zac, he formed a Zac Trio, he is also part of Forest Band and is very active in various live music venues in the capital.

能够演奏FUNK BOSSA FUSION JAZZ POP RNB各种风格 。现任北京现代音乐学院 cma jazz大乐队bass手 并参加第七届九门爵士音乐节北京现代音乐学院拉丁大乐队bass手并随乐队参加北京现代音乐节演出。在校期间获得jazz学院佩利扎罗奖学金曾获上海举办的第一届jazz研讨会会员并参加展演赛或最佳演奏solo奖 。于澳大利亚鼓手zac一起组建zac三重奏活跃在北京个个酒吧曾担任森林大乐队bass手。

VICTOR BASTIDAS RODRIGUEZ

DRUMS 鼓

Victor Bastidas received his masters in music with full scholarship from North Illonois University. He has played with many great artists like Michael Breacker and Paquito de Rivera. From 2013 to 2017 Victor lived in Chicago performing regularly with De Paises Project, The Chicago Collective, the Adam Larson quartet, and the Reggie Thomas group. Victor has performed as guest at International festivals such as FIA 2014 in Costa Rica, Jazz al Parque in Bogota Colombia 2012, Cu Jazz Festival in Urbana IL US, 2017, Beijing Jazz Festival 2018, Sam Barsh trio at Xian Music Festival China 2018,  Villavicensio Jazz Festival 2016, and New York winter Jazz Fest with the Edmar Castaneda world Ensemble. He Currently Teaches at The Contemporary Music Academy of Bejing in China where he performs regularly with the local and international artists coming through China. 

Victor Bastidas以优异的成绩毕业于北伊利诺伊大学音乐系取得硕士学位，获得音乐系的全额奖学金和大学奖学金。2013年至2017年间他定居于芝加哥，并且长期与De Paises Project, The Chicago Collective, Adam Larson quartet以及Reggie Thomas group一起演出。多次参与全球范围内各种音乐节和爵士现场演出：哥斯达黎加的FIA 2014，2012年哥伦比亚波哥大的Jazz al Parque，2017年美国Urbana的爵士音乐节，2017年的北京爵士音乐节，2018年的西安音乐节的Sam Barsh三重奏，2016年的Villavicensio爵士音乐节，纽约冬季爵士音乐节等。他目前任教于中国北京当代音乐学院，并定期同中国的本地及国际艺术家合作。
