Your Friday night starts with a drum roll or two for The AFRO-GENT are back on our stage once again! This dynamic band will dazzle you with their signature style this evening, mixing R&B, Reggae, Afro beats, and of course jazz together in a performance you simply don’t want to end. So luckily, the party will not be over after their show, as around midnight Dean the DJ will continue to shake up the dance floor with good music, amazing people, and our cheeky Happy Hour shots.
星期五，我们以鼓声开场，The AFRO-GENTS再度上台献演！今晚，这支充满活力的乐队将以他们标志性的风格：将R&B、雷鬼、非洲节奏，当然，还有爵士乐混合在一起，让您耳目一新。幸运的是，派对还远远没有结束，因为在午夜时分，Dean The DJ 将继续用美妙的音乐，聚集有趣的人们，当然还有我们的午夜欢乐时光，一起震撼舞池。
RYAN KING
Ryan is a live performing artist born and raised in Bamenda , Cameroon. Ryan’s versatility in music is what makes him unique. He plays the guitar, drums and he also sings. In 2018 he and his band "Beyond borders" took first place in the "Laowai Idol" competition hosted at the university of international Business and Economics with stiff talent and competition all over Beijing. He currently performs on various stages in Beijing.
Ryan是一位现场音乐家，在喀麦隆巴门达出生和成长。他在音乐上的才华多样是他与众不同的原因。他能弹吉他、打鼓，也能唱歌。2018年，他和他的乐队“超越国界”在国际经济贸易大学举办的“老外偶像”比赛中获得第一名，尽管当时竞争激烈，有着全北京很多才华横溢的对手。他目前在北京的很多舞台上演出。
NYUIBEINBEI MEYOF
His name is Nyuibeinbei Meyof, usually go by the name Meyof Jr. I am from Cameroon and presently based in Beijing, China. I’m a diverse bassist in genres of music such as Reggae, funk, blues, Zouk, Afro and Gospel. I’ve had the privilege to perform with various great bands such as One Drop, Soul Shake Black Gold, Highest praise CMR, Woodshed Blues band, and many other home-based bands in Beijing. Represented countries in musical events, played in hotels, performed in Embassies in Beijing and international events. I am respectful and bring in positive energy in all situations.
Nyuibeinbei Meyof，来自喀麦隆，目前居住在中国北京。他是一名能演奏雷鬼、放克、布鲁斯、祖克、非洲音乐和福音等音乐流派的多元化贝斯手。曾与One Drop，Soul Shake Black Gold，Highest Praise CMR，Woodshed Blues乐队以及北京的许多乐队一起演出。他也曾代表国家参加音乐活动，在北京的各个大使馆以及国际活动演出。他尊重别人，并充满着正能量。
GUY MABANZA
Hailing from the Congo, drummer Guy Mabanza's playing is the perfect combination of groove, technique and musicality. He studied at the prestigious Freejazz school of music in his home country under Congolese drummers Evradone Lahaluma and Francis Mulio, and performed with various ensembles related to the institute as well as with other bands including Adonaï before moving to China. Citing influences including Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers and Calvin Rodgers, he currently performs around Beijing with the band worpro and the Canadian artist Ember Swift (子玉). An extremely versatile musician, his previous performances include playing drums with THE JARED LANG BAND and playing orchestral percussion with the Kunming International Philharmonic under the baton of conductor Oleg Sheremeta.
来自刚果的鼓手 Guy Mabanza 的演奏是律动、技术和乐感的完美结合。他在刚果鼓手 Evradone Lahaluma 和 Francis Mulio 师从的著名 Freejazz 音乐学校学习，并在移居中国之前，同该学院相关的各种乐团以及包括 Adonaï 在内的其他乐队一起演出。他受到 Dave Weckl、Dennis Chambers 和 Calvin Rodgers 的影响，目前与 worpro 乐队和加拿大艺术家 Ember Swift (子玉) 在北京各地演出。作为一位多才多艺的音乐家，他之前的表演包括在指挥家 Oleg Sheremeta 的指挥下与 THE JARED LANG BAND 合作打鼓和与昆明国际爱乐乐团合作演奏管弦打击乐。
SETH "CJ"
Seth, popularly known as CJ, is a classical, jazz, hip-hop, R&B pianist and singer who currently resides in Beijing. He has played with a couple of bands and has had the privilege to perform with jazz and hip hop artists. He currently performs solo piano and songs on stages in Beijing.
Seth “CJ" 是一位古典、爵士、嘻哈、R&B钢琴演奏家和歌手，目前居住在北京。他曾与几个乐队合作演出，并有幸与爵士和嘻哈艺术家一起演出。他目前在北京表演独奏钢琴和演唱。
DEAN THE DJ
Sound Engineer by day and and DJ at night is playing a variety of music from Afro, Pop, RnB, HipHop, Latin and EDM.
白天是调音师，晚上便化身DJ，Dean最擅长的曲风是非洲音乐，流行，RnB, HipHop, 拉丁和EDM
MIDNIGHT SHOTS HAPPY HOUR
Everyone knows about it, right? We don't do happy hours at Modernista, except... well, except that 10 Kuai Shot Midnight Happy Hour... at midnight yes, because our DJ always needs some extra love shot at him after the band ends and the dancing starts.
This month, try the new additions to our classic list of Coco Locos, Naughty Girls and Dirty Russians. Take your pick between the intoxicating Purple Haze or the cool sweetness of the Chocolate Mint; dare to try the tequila in Strawberry Cupid's bow, or the spicy fire in the Kill Bill shot.
