We’ve worked so hard this month we all deserve a May holiday treat! And here it is the extraordinary Mojo Hand to kick it off for us with some of the best blues music that can be served in the country. Our old friends need little introduction, as their music has already made them famous and it comes to nobody’s surprise after seeing them play. Blues the night away until midnight when DJ Whisper takes over and makes you want to stay until Sunday morning -  with a Happy Hour shot or more of course.

As a Chinese Blues pinoeer and the highest level of blues performance in country MOJOHAND was founded by bassist Wang Zheng and guitarist Wei Wei in Beijing back in 2014. The duo has been visiting the Chicago and Mississippi area in the US for some Blues roots search. Convinced that Blues is the source of all modern music, MOJOHAND’s making the repertoire across the entire American Blues history, from Robert Johnson in Mississippi to Muddy Waters in Chicago; from Tennessee's Albert King to Texas' Stevie Ray Vaughan. Deeply rooted in the traditional Blues, MOJOHAND is also relentlessly creating new Chinese Blues at the same time. Members actively organized and participated in various types of Blues concerts and music festivals and toured throughout the country. MOJOHAND’ s debut album was released in the end of 2018 and second one followed in August 2020. After eight years together members worked closely with many famous Blues musicians at home and abroad, including Chinese Blues legendary singer Hang Tian, Japanese Blues guitarist from Chicago Shun Kikuta, the king player of Blues harmonica from Japan Kotez, American Blues musicians Matthew Skoller and Big Walker among others.

MOJO HAND 由曾经深入美国芝加哥和密西西比河三角洲沿岸探访BLUES音乐的贝斯手王铮和吉他手魏威组建于2014年的北京，是目前中国演奏BLUES音乐的先锋乐队代表。成军八年来，MOJO HAND与许多国内外著名BLUES音乐人都有过深度合作，其中有：中国蓝调摇滚传奇歌手-杭天；美国格莱美奖三次提名的BLUES口琴大师和蓝调音乐家BILLY BRANCH；亚洲杰出BLUES吉他演奏家-菊田俊介（SHUN KIKUTA）；一直活跃在芝加哥的日裔蓝调钢琴演奏家-有吉须美人（ARIYO）；另外，MOJO HAND也和中国布鲁斯领军人物张岭、美国格莱美获奖者-BLUES音乐家SUGER BLUE, MATTHEW SKOLLER等等都有过短暂而亲密的合作。2014年以来，由MOJO HAND领衔的“周日蓝调芥末大会”让北京的“江湖酒吧”俨然成为京城乃至全国蓝调爱好者心目中的BLUES圣地；2018年底MOJO HAND 发 行 首 张 专 辑 《 黑 蓝 作 坊 》 向 历 史 经 典 BLUES 致 敬 ；2020 年 10 月 发 行MOJO HAND中文原创同名专辑《MOJO HAND》

WANG ZHENG 王铮

BASS 贝斯 

Wang started playing bass back in 1994. Three years later he started studying at Beijing Midi Music School. In 2016 and 2018, he went to the important birthplace(s) of Blues in the United States twice and cooperated with many local Blues musicians. He is currently the bassist of MOJO HAND, Hangtian, and Tumbler. He participated in the performances organized in recent years such are Hi Blues Beijing International Blues Music Festival, Harmonica Master Billy Branch China Tour, Guitar Master Shun Kikuta China Tour, Piano Master Sumito Ariyo China Tour, Hangtian Band’s Latest Album Recording National Tour, Mi Zang Band's Latest Album recording nationwide tour, BB King & SRV Beijing commemorative performance, Jianghu 9th Anniversary Mahwa Blues Special Concert, Yuansheng Project Blues & Folk Music Live, Blues Mustard Conference and Jianghu Blues Jam, Midi Music School Blues Promotion and Exchange Activities, Modern Conservatory of Music Blues promotion and exchange activities among others.

1994年开始接触并演奏电贝斯。1997年就读北京迷笛音乐学校。2016和2018两次深入美国重要的蓝调发源地，并与当地众多蓝调音乐人合作交流，现任MOJO HAND／杭天／不倒翁乐队贝斯手。近年参与组织举办的演出活动：“Hi Blues”~北京国际蓝调音乐节；口琴大师Billy Branch中国巡演；吉他大师Shun Kikuta中国巡演；钢琴大师Sumito Ariyo中国巡演；杭天乐队最新专辑录制全国巡演；弥藏乐队最新专辑录制全国巡演；B.B.King&S.R.V北京纪念演出；江湖九周年麻瓦蓝调专场音乐会；源声计划~蓝调&民谣音乐现场；蓝调芥末大会和江湖BluesJam；迷笛音乐学校蓝调推广交流活动；现代音乐学院蓝调推广交流活动；MOJO HAND以蓝会友系列活动…

WEI WEI 魏威

Over the years he has devoted himself to study the performance of Texas Blues guitar master Stevie Ray Vaughan, forming his own explosive playing style. Currently he is  guitar player of MOJO HAND, Mizo and Nine Band. In June 2016, he went to the United States for a 40-day Blues roots tour, via Chicago, St.Louis, Memphis, Texas, Louisiana, New Orleans, Mississippi, tracing the entire history of the development of Blues music in the country. While exploring the roots of Blues music culture, he also completed more than 20 performance exchanges along the way. During the cooperation with Taiwan Tune masters include: Billy Branch, Lil'Ed Williams, J.W.Williamson, Shunsuke Kikuta, Sumito Ariyo Ariyoshi (Yoshisu Beauty), Willie Buck, Bob Stroger, Jimmy Burns, Blind Mississippi Morris, Matthew Skoller, Tom Bolland, Gus Thornton, etc.

多年来潜心研究德州Blues吉他大师Stevie Ray Vaughan的演奏，并兼容其他大师的手法，形成自己极具爆发力的演奏风格。现任MOJO HAND／弥藏／九乐队吉他手。 2016年6月赴美进行为期40天的蓝调寻根之旅，经由芝加哥-圣路易斯-孟菲斯-德克萨斯-路易斯安那-新奥尔良-密西西比，足迹踏遍整个美国蓝调音乐发展历史的轨迹。期间一边探求蓝调音乐根源文化，也一路完成了超过20场的演出交流。期间同台合作蓝调大师包括：Billy Branch、Lil'Ed Williams、J.W.Williamson、菊田俊介、Sumito Ariyo Ariyoshi（有吉须美人)、Willie Buck、Bob Stroger、Jimmy Burns、Blind Mississippi Morris、Matthew Skoller、Tom Bolland、Gus Thornton等等。

YANG CE 杨策KEYBOARD 键盘

An outstanding representative of the new generation of Chinese musicians, he spends 80% of his day time dealing with music. He is deeply fascinated by Funk, Blues & Soul... His desire for new music is unparalleled, and he often gets enlightened during the concerts delivering unexpected and wonderful performance. In 2019, he participated in the recording of the iQIYI variety show "Summer of the Band" with Click#15. His performance was eye-catching and his popularity rose sharply. Currently, he is working with Charles’s Trio (Yang Ce Trio) and MOJO HAND as a keyboard player.

中国新生代乐手杰出代表，百分之八十醒着的时间都在和音乐打交道，深深着迷于Funk，Blues & Soul……对新音乐的渴望无人可及，常在演出过程中有令人意想不到的精彩表现。2019年，他随Click#15参加录制爱奇艺综艺节目“乐队的夏天”，表现抢眼，人气急剧上升。现任Charles’sTrio（杨策三重奏）／MOJO HAND键盘手。

ZHANG XIAOSONG 张晓松

HARMONICA 口琴

Zhang has collaborated with China's top singers such are Han Hong, Sun Nan, Zhang Ling, Zhang Chu, Ye Bei, Li Ronghao, Xiao Ke, Jiang Yuheng, and other musicians. His collabs also include world class harmonica master Brendan Power, Chicago blues guitar master Kukita Shunsuke, Japanese new beauty slide guitarist Chihana, Japanese harmonica player Kotez. He released his first original Blues harmonica album Song of One in 2015. He is currently a harmonica player in the MOJO HAND band.

与国内一线歌手韩红、孙楠、张岭、张楚、叶蓓、李荣浩、小柯、姜育恒等音乐人合作。世界级口琴大师Brendan Power中国演出嘉宾，芝加哥蓝调吉他大师“菊田俊介”中国演出特邀口琴手，日本新晋美女滑棒吉他手“Chihana”中国巡演特邀口琴手，日本口琴手“Kotez”中国演出特邀嘉宾 2015年发行个人首张原创蓝调口琴专辑《一个人的歌》，现任MOJO HAND乐队口琴手

WU ZHIJUN 吴志军DRUMS 鼓手

He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the National Huaqiao University College of Art, where he met the Japanese Blues guitarist Hiroshi Osawa. After that, he went on the road of Blues music with his colleague, who is also a teacher and friend. Later, he served as drummer and percussionist in many bands such are Golden Buddha, Zhang Ling, Dogs of Rhythm, Jazz Du Yinjiao, phonograph, etc., and worked with Billy Branch, Sumito Ariyo Ariyoshi (Yoshisu Beauty), Suga Mama, Avies Elis, TessCollins, Ptah Brown, Heather Jakeman, and many other musicians from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa. He is a regular drummer for Chicago Blues guitar master Shun Kikuta, blues piano player Rie Lee Kanehira, and Japanese harmonica flagman Kotez when they are touring China, and currently serve as MOJO HAND, Hangtian, and Tumbler drummer.

毕业于国立华侨大学艺术学院美术系，在校期间与日本蓝调吉他演奏家大泽宽相识，此后与亦师亦友的大泽先生一同走上蓝调音乐之路，并在毕业后来京加入杭天乐队。随后在金佛爵士、张岭、节奏之犬，杜银蛟爵士、留声机等诸多乐队担任鼓手和打击乐手，并和Billy Branch、Sumito Ariyo Ariyoshi（有吉须美人）、Suga Mama、Avies Elis、Tess Collins、Ptah Brown、Heather Jakeman等诸多来自美国、英国以及澳大利亚和南非的音乐家合作演出，芝加哥蓝调吉他大师Shun Kikuta、蓝调钢琴手Rie Lee Kanehira和日本口琴旗手Kotez在中国巡演期间的固定合作鼓手，现任MOJO HAND／杭天／不倒翁乐队鼓手。

CHENG CHEN 程晨

VOCAL 蓝调&摇滚之声

In September 2000, he went to New York and studied at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. For five years, he traveled to New York, Boston, Atlantic City, Wisconsin, and other places at the US East Coast to perform. In 2001, he won the championship in the Chinese singer competition in New York and Atlanta respectively. Back in 2003, he worked with American musicians Roger Vincent Tari and Mike Roze to record Notice Of Death, No Way, Dream Talk, and other songs, which were included in the independent label music magazine Music Of The World For Youth Culture. In 2004, he won the New York State Government Outstanding Performance Award. Next year, he drove across the American continent and traveled to 18 states in the United States... Returned to Beijing in 2006, formed indie rock band OOC in 2008, released EP Out of Control, 3 and the album OOC, recommended by Cui Jian in early 2016 with the original single Alive landed on Dragon TV China Star, and joined the MOJO HAND band in the same year.

2000年9月去往美国纽约,就学於“Brooklyn Conservatory of Music”,五年间穿梭于美国东部的纽约、波士顿、大西洋城、威斯康星等多地演出。2001年在纽约和亚特兰大分别获得华语歌手比赛冠军；2003年同美国音乐人Roger Vincent Tari和Mike Roze合作录制了“Notice Of Death”、“No Way”、“Dream Talk”等歌曲,收录於独立厂牌音乐杂志“Music Of The World For Youth Culture”；2004年获得纽约州政府优秀演出奖；2005年自驾横穿美洲大陆，游历美国18州…… 2006年回到北京，2008年组建独立摇滚乐队OOC，发行EP《控制之外》，《3》和专辑《OOC》，2016年初由崔健推荐携原创单曲《活着》登陆东方卫视《中国之星》，同年加入MOJO HAND乐队。
