We got to Anxi before the Tie Guan Yin tea leaves are picked so that we can share with you every detail of making this famous oolong tea. The weather report said today was going to be a sunny day which is a perfect day for picking tea. However, the sun didn’t show up for long. It turned cloudy in the afternoon. Also, the leaves are still too young to make into our favorite classic Tie Guan Yin. So the tea picking trip in the mountain became a leisure visit of the tea field. It’s quite fun and we learned a lot from the local tea processing experts.

In the last few days, we were busy learning and experimenting with making Classic Tie Guan Yin ALL by hand. It is our first time to see it and first time to try it. After doing that ourselves, we fully understand how hard it is to make tea by hand, not to mention good. What is the result of our two days hard work? super sore arms and 130g tea.
