Coronavirus update—isolation for recent travellers from Hubei Province
Dear Students,
Further to my email yesterday regarding the spread of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the Australian Government has this afternoon advised that anyone who has been in the Hubei Province, China or has been in contact with any confirmed novel coronavirus cases in the past 14 days should isolate themselves immediately. Please inform your primary health care giver by phone or contact our Medical and Counselling on (02) 6201 2351 to inform them of your travel and circumstances. Do not visit your GP or health centre. Do not come onto campus.
Students who require advice about any delay or change to their studies should contact the Student Centre. The University will do all that is reasonably possible to support impacted students to continue their studies.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and act in accordance with advice from Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the ACT Chief Health Officer. There are currently five reported cases in Australia. There are no confirmed cases in the ACT at this stage. As the situation is rapidly changing, the Australian and ACT Governments are providing regularly updated information and are the best source of advice.
