The Spring Festival is only one week away, and it is time to usher in the New Year.
Looking back, 2016 was a year of uncertainties and challenges. The low oil price crisis forced all the companies in the industy to face hard decisions and hardships. Tenaris was no exception. Every one of us put in extra efforts: Commercial and Services teams travelled all over the country without a break in order to provide the best possible solutions to our customers, many people worked until late night in order to complete new investment projects, comply with the highest quality standards and deadlines, ensure accurate data analysis, advance technological innovations, optimize cost and achieive the highest possible level of customer satisfaction…
I would like to say a big Thank you to all the people on our Tenaris China team for all your commitment and contributions!
2016 was also a year to be proud of. October marked the 10th anniversary of the operation of the Teanris OCTG Threading Center in Qingdao and the inauguration of our new Automotive Compotent Center. We are proud to have been running an industrial system with the highest standards in quality, health, safety and environment in our industry for 10 years in China, assisting our customers in oil & gas development under the harshest drilling environments and supporting the growth of our local workforce and community while expanding the scope of our manufacturing and services into a new area. Even in the toughest period of the industrial cycle, we continued to follow the scholarship of Roberto Rocca’s Education Program to support the universities in developing future engineers as well as the environment education program for primary schools. Social responsibility is one of the core values of Tenaris.
2016 was also a year of gratitude. Our success in China would not have been possible without the trust and support of our employees and their families, our Tenaris sister companies, customers, local authorities, suppliers, business partners, communities, non-govermental organizations, teachers and students. This is the driving force spurring Tenaris to constantly press forward, in the pursuit of innovation and excellence.
At a personal level, I am deeply appreciative of the chance to serve as Tenaris Country Manager China, as this enables me to deepen the communication with customers and to learn, grow and work more colsely with each department. Building the Qingdao Plant to be a role model for Tenaris worldwide and a industry leader in China and contributing to the development of the oil & gas indutry and the automotive industy of China is not only my goal but also the common goal of the Tenaris China team. Let’s work hard for this goal in the New Year!
