Schools across the country will resume classes on a staggered schedule in the coming weeks. In order to facilitate the start of the fall semester, the Ministry of Education and the National Health Commission on Thursday released the "Guidance on COVID-19 Prevention and Control for Universities, Secondary Schools, Elementary Schools and Kindergartens.
Many international students are currently only able to take online classes and cannot return to China.
Colleges and universities in several cities, including Beijing, welcomed their first students to report or register on Aug. 15.
However, students and faculty members currently overseas will not be allowed to return to campus until further notice. They should present a negative nucleic acid test result when they return to campus.

Most universities in Hebei Province will not allow international students to return to their schools if they are outside of China, and we believe this will be a measure that many universities will take, and international students may not be able to return to study at Chinese universities in 2020.
