2018 AFC U-23 Championship Comes to Changzhou Soon

The AFC U-23 Championship is second only to the AFC Asian Cup among Asia's men's national team competitions, with the 2018 edition the first time it will be held in the world’s most populous country.

The 2018 AFC U-23 Championship (also known as the 2018 AFC U-23 Asian Cup) will be the third edition of the AFC U-23 Championship, the biennial international age-restricted football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-23 national teams of Asia. A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament. It is scheduled to take place 9–27 January 2018 and will be hosted by China.

The tournament’s four host cities are Changzhou, Kunshan, Jiangyin and Changshu - all located in Jiangsu Province - to host the tournament’s 32 matches.

Changzhou will act as the tournament’s headquarters, and Changzhou Olympic Sports Centre will host nine matches, including the tournament opener between China PR and Oman on January 9, and the final on January 27.

Changzhou Olympic Sports Centre (Simplified Chinese: 常州奥林匹克体育中心) is a sport complex in Changzhou, China. It is currently used mostly for various events, like concerts and athletics.The main stadium holds 38,000 people. The complex includes the 6,200 seater Xincheng Gymnasium with an aquatic centre with 2300 seats, and a 4,400㎡ indoor tennis hall.
