What is Toastmaster |关于国际演讲会

Toastmasters International (TI) is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.

Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking。

Toastmasters was firstly founded in 1924 in California, U.S. It has been 92 years from its initiation. And now it has nearly 332,000 members in 15,400 clubs in more than 135 countries and regions.

国际演讲会是一个全球性的非营利事业组织，其成立的原因是基于帮助有志人士学习说话、倾听与思考，进而运用这些技巧，达到推动自我实现、增强领导力的目的。

国际演讲会最早建立于1924年，在美国加利福尼亚州，距今已经有92年的历史。

目前于全球143多个国家和地区拥有超过16800个会员组织以及约358000名会员。

What is SMART? | 什么是SMART?

We are the third Toastmasters Club in Chang Zhou. Our slogan is "Hi, better us"

我们是常州第三个头马俱乐部。我们的口号是“遇见更好的自己”

SMART is a community Toastmaster Club, which design to help people improve public speaking and leadership, opens to the whole society. Anyone who is above 18 years old can join us as a member of Toastmasters International.

Nonmembers can also attend regular meeting as guests.

SMART是一个社区俱乐部，致力于提升公众演讲能力和领导力，面向社会开放，年满18岁的公民都可以加入我们，成为Toastmasters的会员

非会员也可以以来宾的形式参加常规会议。

How do we operate? | 我们怎样运作？

SMART Club meets on a regular basis for meeting together. Each meeting has 3 prepared speeches, each speech lasts about 4 to 7 minutes, and1 table topic section.

There is a professional and experienced evaluation team helping on indicating where your speech needs to be improved.

Once joining the club, each member will receive 1official manuals, we call it pathways learning system.

SMART俱乐部以会议的方式运作，每期会有3个演讲，每个演讲大约3-7分钟,还有一个全员参与即兴演讲环节，演讲之后俱乐部资深专业的评估团队会帮你指出演讲上需要改进的地方。

每个新会员的入会后会收到官方的一本手册，我们称之为pathways用于演讲流程。

About Our Officer Team | 俱乐部官员团队

Every year or half year, SMART would have a different officer team, which is set to service for the club and members on education, membership, public relationship and so on.

The officer team of SMART including:

SMART俱乐部每半年或一年更换一次官员团队；官员团队的设置职责在于从会员教育、会员关系、俱乐部公共关系等方面服务于俱乐部和俱乐部的会员。

加入SMART能获得什么呢？

1. 气场与自信

公众演讲能力会综合的提升你的自信，对于话题的把控性，语言的逻辑，自我的认可与成就感。在工作与学习之外给你一个净土提升自己，提升气场，之后回去无论是会议，集会，大型活动的场合下字字珠玑，一鸣惊人。也给自己的CV填上浓墨重彩的一笔。

1. Aura and confidence

Public speaking skills will enhance your confidence, control of the topic, logic of language, self-recognition and sense of accomplishment. It gives you a pure place to improve yourself and your aura outside of work and study, and then you go back to the meeting, the big event and you say every word. Also give their CV filled with a heavy color.

2. 社交人脉

认识一群上进，三观一致，素质高尚，奇葩有才的人。避免无效社交。除了吃吃喝喝，跟姑娘小伙看电影，不如带TA一同来俱乐部玩耍的同时提升自我，使你的闲暇时间刺激而充实！

2. Social networking

Know a group of wonderful talent people. Avoid ineffective socializing. In addition to eating, drinking, and watching movies with a guy or girl, it's better to take him or her to a club to improve yourself and make your leisure time exciting and fulfilling!

3.能力升级

社会上供你提升自己的机会很少而且试错成本很大，但是在这里，一个月的上台数量就相当于你五年的上台数量，而且有无数头马小伙伴帮助你、鼓励你，你可以大胆地在这里试错！

头马倡导在做中学，一开始可以通过做即兴演讲找找感觉，熟悉了会议之后可以通过做备稿演讲挑战自己，也可以通过做会议角色掌控会议进程。

后期可以上升到D85大区活动，你可以作为大型活动的主办人。也可以参加头马各个级别（区域、城市）的演讲比赛，甚至可以代表中国头马会员去美国参加演讲比赛。

3. Ability upgrade

There are few opportunities for you to improve yourself and great trial and error costs, but here, the number of speeches in one month is equal to the number of your five years on stage speech, and there are countless partners to help you, encourage you, you can boldly try and error here!

TM advocates learning by doing. At the beginning, you can find the feeling by making impromptu speeches. After getting familiar with the meeting, you can challenge yourself by making prepared speeches.

Later, it can be promoted to D85 events, and you can be the host of large events. You can also participate in the speech contest of all levels (region, city) of TM, and even you can go to the United States to participate in the speech contest on behalf of Chinese TM members.
