Recently, the inside and outside appearance design of Changzhou Metro Line 1 has been published finally. Images below can give you an idea of what it is going to look like. It was decided by public vote among four possibilities.

据悉，我市地铁1号线一期工程车辆的外观和内饰方案已经正式敲定，外观和内饰方案分别选定“常州之星A”和“科技与幻想A”，这一方案的最后敲定综合自市民投票结果及专家意见。

Construction for Line 1 began on 28 October 2014. The first phase runs from South Xiashu (南夏墅) in the south to Chunjiang (春江) in the north. It will be 34km long, with 29 stations, including 27 underground and 2 elevated, linking residential and business districts and connecting to the high-speed rail and public bus networks . Line 1 is scheduled to open in 2019.

地铁1号线于2014年10月28日开工，一期工程线路南起南夏墅，北至春江，全长约34.237公里，共设29座车站，其中地下站27座，高架站2座(分别是阳湖路站、南夏墅站)。线路将贯穿住宅和商业区，联通高铁和公交网络。1号线预计2019年下半年开通运营。

Track-laying of line 1 has begun on 18 May 2017. The first leading embankment of tracks was operated by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group, from Nanxiashu parking station to Wenhuagong station. It is scheduled to be completed in April 2018.

5月18日，地铁1号线正式进入铺轨施工阶段，率先启动铺轨的标段，是由中铁四局承建的轨道01标，南夏墅停车场起至文化宫站。预计该标段将在2018年4月完成铺轨。

More to know:

Changzhou's metro network is planned to comprise six lines with a total length of about 208 kilometres by 2030. Line 1 and Line 2 are under construction.

常州规划到2030年建成208公里包括6条线路在内的城市轨道交通网络，目前在建的有1号线和2号线。

Construction for Line 2 first phase began on 13 February 2017. It is 19.7 kilometres long, from Qingfeng Park Station to Wuyi Road Station.

常州地铁2号一期工程于今年2月13日开工，由青枫公园站到五一路站，全长19.7公里.

Line 3 is scheduled to be 29 kilometres long, from Changzhou North Railway Station to Miaoqiao Station.

3号线：常州北站-青阳路西，全长29公里

Line 4 is scheduled to be 36 kilometres long, from Xinlong Zutuan Center Station to Jianhu Station.

4号线：新龙-戚墅堰，全长36公里

Line 5 is scheduled to be 28 kilometres long, from Qinglong Station to West Taihu Science City Station.

5号线：青龙-西太湖科技城，全长28公里

Line 6 is scheduled to be 37 kilometres long, from Xuejia Station to West Taihu Science City Station.

6号线：薛家-西太湖科技城，全长37公里

In addition, a network of 68 kilometres of light rail is planned to be built to connect the Changzhou Metro system to outlying areas and neighbouring cities.

另外，常州还计划修建一条长68公里的市郊线，联通地铁网和边远地区以及邻近城市。
