What is a Masquerade Ball?
First noted in Italy during the 15th century Renaissance, Masquerade balls were costumed public festivities that were particularly popular in Venice. They were generally elaborate dances held for members of the upper classes, and have been associated with the tradition of the Venetian Carnival.

Masquerade balls became common throughout mainland Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. A Swiss count is credited with having introduced the Venetian fashion of a semi-public masquerade ball to London in the eighteenth century, with the first being held at Haymarket Opera House. Throughout the century the dances became popular, both in England and then Colonial America.

Schedule for the evening
晚会当天的安排
18:00; Guests arrive at the Sheraton Grand Ball for finger-food & cocktails. Guests enter on the red carpet and sign their name on the welcome headboard.
18:00：嘉宾踩红毯进场，并在欢迎墙上签名；会场有一些吃食和鸡尾酒。
19:00; All guests enter the Grand Ballroom for a wonderful 4 course meal with drinks provided.
19：00：所有嘉宾进入宴会大厅享受美味的晚餐。
20:30; Live music will be provided throughout the evening and guests will be welcome to join us dancing or socialising for the remainder of the night. There will also be a fun cards table for guests to amuse themselves.
20:30：现场整晚都会有音乐相伴，所有嘉宾可以随音乐起舞，度过美好的社交之夜。现场也会有纸牌供宾客自娱自乐。
This event is open to;
anyone over 18 years old.

Dress:
You are welcome to dress as you wish however most guests will choose smart or evening attire. The Sheraton Hotel will be providing guests with Masquerade masks but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like.
着装：
你可以根据自己喜好着装，但大多数嘉宾会选择晚礼服.。新北喜来登大酒店将为宾客提供舞会面具，同时你也可以带上你自己的。
