
In the morning of July 19th, 2017, Mr. Martin Normann Kampf, Consul of the Trade & Investment Section of the Brazilian Consulate General visited the Xinbei District. He was well received by representatives from the Changzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Xinbei District Commerce Bureau and Changzhou Bonded Zone.

In mid-July 2014, President Xi attended the 6th BRICS summit in Brazil and paid a state visit to the country. During Xi’s visit, China and Brazil made a joint declaration to further deepen China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership and singed 56 cooperation agreements. And one of the cooperation agreement was about the Marcopolo’s investment in Changzhou. Mr. Kampf visited Changzhou this time to show the importance the Brazilian government attaches to the project and to get an update on the project.
As an influential Brazilian company, Marcopolo set up Marcopolo (Changzhou) Auto Components Co., Ltd. in the Xinbei District in October 2005. With leased workshops of 10,000 m2 in the Changzhou Bonded Zone, Marcopolo (Changzhou)’s business covers R & D of coach components, coach assembly and exports & imports. Since the start, Marcopolo (Changzhou) has received strong support from the Xinbei District Government in registration, environmental evaluations, safety inspections, customs and project applications. The company was finally approved in October 2016.
After being briefed on Marcopolo (Changzhou), Mr. Kampf expressed gratitude to the local government and hoped to see more support to the company.(source:changzhou Gov)
