Where to buy French style baguette in Changzhou?

CF Cafe has a wide range of cakes and breads.  While most of their breads contain nuts, seeds, and fruits but they also have a standard baguette.  Their baguette is indeed good quality and the flour they use is imported, however, I find that the crust is too hard.  Indeed it is possible to cut the roof of your mouth if you take a strong bite of it.

Note: They usually only have their baguette on sale in the afternoons.  I would recommend that you order in advance if you wish to be sure you can get one.

Price: 18RMB

Auchan offers two different kinds of baguette.  One is slightly cheaper at 3.5RMB while the more expensive one is 7RMB.  I think the difference is the quality of flour they use.  I would recommend you splash out and upgrade to the 7RMB one as the taste is significantly better.  The crust is the right texture and the inside is light and fluffy.  The way it should be in my opinion.

Note: The Auchan in Wujin always seems to have fresh baguettes for sale early in the morning however the Xinbei location has recently started to replace their bread every second day (very not okay!)

I've only recently discovered the baguette at BakeShine and I have to say it's very good.  It's quite similar to the Auchan baguette above however it is more expensive.  They also only put them out for sale in the afternoons so no fresh morning baguettes:(

This is a typical Chinese bakery with the usual sweet treats for Chinese taste buds. However, they do also have a French baguette but you must pre-order. The quality is pretty good, almost like a ciabatta bread texture but the pre-order issue is a hassle.

Price: 15RMB

Metro has increased and improved their bread offerings lately. They now have a decent range of baguettes, soft rolls and burger buns to choose from. The baguettes are pretty tasty and they always seem to be in stock even from early morning.

Price: 5-9RMB 

Jagerwirt also has a frozen bread selection that you can take home, defrost and bake. I've tried a few of their different bread choices and was pleasantly surprised how good they were compared to many other frozen/bake bread that are on the market. The added advantage of these breads is that you can stock up your freezer and use as needed:)

Price: 15-25RMB (estimated)

So if I had to pick a person favorite from the above list I would opt for either Metro or BakeShine.
