
A plane to St. Petersburg, Russia took off from Nanjing Lukou International Airport at 1:00 am, Jan. 8, marking the launch of Nanjing’s third direct flight route to Europe after Frankfurt and Milan.
This is also the sixth long-range intercontinental passenger route of Nanjing Lukou International Airport.
The flight to St. Petersburg is scheduled every Monday, and is operated by Airbus A330-200 of I-FLY Airlines. The inbound flight will arrive in Nanjing at 23:00 on Sunday, and the outbound flight takes off at 1:00. The direct flight cut the travel time between St. Petersburg and Nanjing to nine hours.
By now, there are 135 domestic and 23 international flight routes in Nanjing Lukou International Airport. The airport is expected to launch scheduled flights to Moscow and Helsinki by 2020.
