
Jintan's Foreign Trade Grows by 34.1% in the First Half of 2017
It is leaned that the Jintan District’s foreign trade volume grew by 34.1% to 6.71 billion RMB, 59.9% complete of the annual target. Of all the foreign trade volume, exports grew by 37.6% to 5.3 billion RMB and imports grew by 22.4% to 1.41 billion RMB. Among all the districts and counties under Changzhou’s jurisdiction, the Jintan District ranks No.1 in terms of both the target completion rate and the foreign trade growth rate.

The Jintan District’s foreign trade maintained a good momentum in the first half year. 43 new foreign trade companies were registered and the number of companies with imports/exports grew by 24 to 356. Besides, 17 companies hit an import and export volume of 10 million US dollars each, with a total import and export volume of 657 million US dollars. And that is 67.6% of the district’s total. In particular, three leading foreign trade companies saw a big import and export growth, thus becoming major contributors to the district’s foreign trade.
The Jintan district’s major export markets are U.S., Japan and Korea. And the exports to the three markets hit 400 million US dollars, accounting for 51.9% of the district’s total exports. In terms of exports to Belt and Road countries, those to ASEAN countries saw a fast increase of 39.6% to 74.6 million US dollars.
