Started from beginning of this month,
the VAT rate for manufacturing was lowered from 17 percent to 16 percent;
the rate for transportation, construction, basic telecommunications services and farm produce went down from 11 percent to 10 percent.
iPhone

The cuts amount to about RMB 1,000 to RMB 2,000 for Smart brand cars.
C-class sedans, GLC and SUV models see maximum price cuts of RMB 2,000 and RMB 4,000 respectively.
S-class sedans and Mercedes-Maybach models could have price reduction ranging from RMB 7,000 to RMB 25,000.
Mercedes AMG models prices could fall by as much as RMB 32,000.

Gasoline and Diesel
Not only did some cars cut prices, but so did the price of oil.
Because the VAT rate for petroleum products was lowered from 17 percent to 16 percent, the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel were cut by 75 yuan and 65 yuan a metric ton respectively, also starting from May 1.
