When Foreigner arrive China,within 24 hours, you have to go to the local police station near your rental home to register your information in detail. If you`re in rural areas, you shall report to local police stations or residence registration office within 72 hours.

If you are living in a hotel,you should go to the hotel reception and get a residence certificate first, and don't forget to ask the hotel put their stamp on the form! That`s easy to get the registration form.
Passport is the most important certificate for foreigners to prove their identity in China, just carry it around in case of being checked by the police, or they will bring you back to the police station for further investigation.

If you lost your passport, you should make a new one as soon as possible. Without passport, you may be treated as illegal staying , punishment according to law will catch up with you.
Check the expiry date of you residence permit, and you should apply for the extension when there`s only one months left!
Once your residence expire, you will turn into illegal staying, each day you stay may causes a 500 RMB penalty (5000RMB upper limit); you will even be detained or expelled.

Go to the Entry&Exit depatments as soon as possible to confess your mistakes with good attitude, there always have solutions for problems.
To work in China, foreigners have to apply for the work permit first. Without work permit and work residence permit, you will be treated as illegal employment. Once being found, you will be fined for 5000 to 20000 RMB, or even 5 to 15 days` detention.

In addition, do not engage in any criminal activities, since China only welcomes foreign businessmen who operate business honestly and legally.
