As a foreigner who is working in China,
HACOS reminds you to pay more attention to work-related pitfalls!
Let’s see!
01
Do not believe any oral commitment without signing a labor contract. A written contract is really significant.

And you have to be clear about every detail and make sure that the signature on the contract is a real one!
02
Never give your original passport to your boss or any so-called “intermediary”. Never!

03
Ask your boss for the company’s Business License. If he can show you the photocopy of the Business License, make sure it is authentic or not. If he cannot, then leave without hesitation.

04
Make sure whether the company is satisfying both in work environment and integrity by asking other foreign employees in the company.
If the turnover of personnel is more than 15% of , you need to reconsider whether you should stay in the company.
05
About working hours: remember, work within your work hours according to the contract. No money, no OT! :)

06
Take good care of your passport before coming to work in China. Just let your boss help you deal with visa problems.

07
If you are told that you will be paid not in the specific month but a month later, or a-month salary is required as a cash pledge, you should be careful!

In such situation, the company probably intends not to pay you the final months of salary.
08
You’d better choose a multinational company which is not too strict with working hours. You will have less misunderstanding of the contract in such company.

If you want to work for a Chinese firm, find one which has established for at least 3-5 years. Try not to work for a start-up or a firm with several names.
09
Make it clear in the contract about the every work’s detail.

10
Generally, working in non-governmental organization, multinational corporation, embassy or state-owned enterprise is much better for you since there is no fraud or exploitation!
