From November, South Africa begins testing the new electronic visa system, allowing eligible citizens to apply online for an e-visa to visit South Arica.
The e-Visa is expected to contribute to growth in the tourism sector. Besides, the improving visas process will make it more accessible for foreign investors to come to the country.

DHA revealed in a statement that the decision to introduce the e-Visa provided many benefits. “It is reliable, client-friendly and convenient for visa applicants, airlines, trade partners and Home Affairs officials."
Motsoaledi, the minister of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), said the department is currently testing the new system with Kenya.
Citizens from eligible countries will be able to obtain the eVisa in three simple steps:
Complete the eVisa for South Africa application form
Pay the eVisa fee using a credit or debit card
Receive the electronic visa by email

The entire application process takes around 20 minutes. Once fully rolled-out, prospective visitors will apply online for visas, at home, office or place of work.
The system will be slowly rolled out to additional countries including India, China, and Nigeria in 2020.
