China’s Crime Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security issued a notice on Oct 15, saying that the State Council’s related department has launched a special campaign against new telecommunication and network-related crimes, for the sake that the crimes have become more and more rampant at the Sino-Myanmar border.

Since Oct 14, social and payment accounts such as QQ, WeChat, Alipay and POS will be shut down if the users live in the area prone to crimes in North Myanmar.
People can call the police in Pu’er workstation and apply to unlock their blocked accounts.
Although it is reported that most cases happened in Yunnan, some netizens from other cities tweet that their accounts get banned.
