PREVENTION & CONTROL IN DAILY LIFE
According to the Interim Guidance for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Information for Households issued by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, you can do these to prevent the disease:
Avoid travelling to the regions affected by COVID-19.

Avoid crowed places, especially. places with poor ventilation, e.g. public baths, hot springs, theatres, internet bars, KTV, shopping centers, bus stations, airports, wharfs, exhibition centers, etc.
Avoid close contact with wild animals. Do not purchase or eat wild animals.
Avoid going to the markets selling live animals (birds, seafood, wild animals, etc). Eggs and meat must be thoroughly cooked before consumption.
Open windows to maintain proper ventilation and keep rooms clean.
Pay attention to hand hygiene.
Avoid touching public objects and places. Wash hands with soap and running water or rinse-free alcohol-based sanitizer in the following situation:
After coming back from public places
After covering cough with hands
Before meal and after using the toilet
Do not touch mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hands. Cover mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with flexed elbow.
Wear a mask when going out.
Wear a single-use medical mask when going to a public place and travelling by public transport.
Wear a surgical mask or N95 mask when going to hospital.
Keep good hygiene and healthy habbits.
Do not share towels among family members. Keep home and tableware clean. Sun-cure clothes and quilts frequently.
Do not spit. Wrap oral and nasal secretion with tissue and throw it in a covered dustbin. Pay attention to nutrition.
Monitor health condition of each family member. Take temperature in the morning and evening.
Prepare thermometer, single-use medical masks and household disinfectant at home.
Spare of surgical masks or N95 masks is also recommended. Please refer to China CDC's updated Mask Guidance for more information.
Suspicious symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) include: fever, cough, sore throat, chest distress, breathing difficulties, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, conjunctivitis and muscle ache.

Now many provinces and cities allow citizens to buy certain amount of masks online or book them from the pharmacies nearby.
For example, those who live in Guangzhou, including expats, can make a reservation for masks with their ID number or passport number through the WeChat mini-program "Suikang" (穗康).

Starting from Feb 16, the service uses lottery system to decide which applicants can successfully get quota to buy masks. The result will be open to public at around 18:00 everyday.
Those who have made a reservation successfully cannot make another reservation in ten days.

As the chance to book masks online is still limited, you can also try to reserve maks from major pharmacies in the city through their official WeChat accounts, and then go to any of the specified pharmacies.
These pharmacies include GPHL’s subsidiaries (Jianmin Pharmacy 健民医药,Cai Zhi Lin 采芝林, Guangzhou Medical Pharmacy 广州医药大药房, Yi Xin Tang 广药一心堂药店) as well as major pharmacies such as Da Shen Lin 大参林, Hai Wang Xing Chen 海王星辰 and Jin Kang 金康.
So far, all reservation services mentioned above are in Chinese only, so we suggest you to ask your Chinese friend or family to help you file in the required info.
