China border open to APEC holders and international students!

近日中国驻新加坡、泰国、墨西哥等大使馆公布，自2022年8月24日(星期三)0时起，持有效APEC商务旅行卡赴华从事商务活动的外国人及持有效学习类居留许可的外国留学生无需重新办理赴华签证，可持上述证件入境。

Recently, the Chinese embassies in Singapore, Thailand, Mexico and other countries announced that from 0:00 on August 24, 2022 (Wednesday), foreigners who hold a valid APEC card to engage in business activities in China and international students who hold a valid residence permit for study can enter China with no need to apply for a new visa.

APEC商务旅行卡是一种多边长期签证。持卡的外国人凭旅行卡和本人有效护照，可在旅行卡有效期内免办签证多次入出中国国境，每次可在华停留60天。

The APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Travel Card is a multilateral long-term visa. With a valid passport, the holders can enter and exit China multiple times without applying for a visa within the validity period of the card, and can stay in China for 60 days each time.

疫情发生之后，自2020年3月28日0时起，中国暂时停止外国人持目前有效来华签证和居留许可入境，也暂停外国人持APEC商务旅行卡入境。

Due to the outbreak of the epidemic, starting from 0:00 on March 28, 2020, China has temporarily suspended the entry of foreigners with current valid visas and residence permits, and also suspended the entry of foreigners with APEC cards.

时隔879天，APEC商务旅行卡持有人可以再次免签入境中国，这是中国大陆逐步对外重新开放的重要信号。

After 879 days, APEC card holders can once again enter China without a visa, which is an important signal of the gradual reopening of China to the world.

另外，中国也将恢复受理各国长期留学人员X1字签证申请，适用于接受学历教育的长期（超过180日）留学人员。需准备的申请材料有：

Moreover, China will also resume accepting X1 visa applications for international students intending for a long-term (more than 180 days) study in China. 

The application documents required to be prepared are:

1️⃣ 录取通知书原件及复印件；

The original and photocopy of the admission notice.

2️⃣《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW201或JW202表）原件及复印件；

The original and photocopy of the "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 or JW202 form).

3️⃣ 学校返校证明（适用于返校复课人员）；

Certificate for returning to school (applicable to senior students).

留学人员家属可凭邀请人出具的邀请函、亲属关系证明、邀请人的护照及居留证件复印件申请随居或探亲。

Family members of international students can apply for staying or visiting relatives with the invitation letter issued by a inviter, proof of kinship, and a copy of the inviter's passport and residence permit.
