Since March, COVID-19 has broken out in several provinces and cities in China, including Jilin, Shanghai, Guangdong, etc. China mianland reported 1,437 new confirmed cases, including 100 imported cases and 1,337 local cases. A total of 906 silent cases were reported, including 118 imported cases and 788 domestic cases, the National Heath Commission said on March 13th.

Authorities of Shenzhen, on Sunday decided to put all residential communities under closed management, close stores and business, suspend transportation and launch three rounds of city-wide testing, starting from Monday, as the local COVID-19 epidemic situation continues to worsen. The measures will be in effect until March 20, and they will be dynamically adjusted based on the epidemic situation.
Guangzhou and Dongguan are also facing severe situations. According to the instructions of local health commissions, these cities have conducted large-scale nucleic acid testing and sealed off some areas. On March 11, CFTE issued an emergency notice, suspending all exhibition activities in Guangzhou from March 11, including the 49th China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou).
In Dongguan, all buses and subways are temporarily suspended, as well as Dine-in. Except high school boarding students in senior year, other students (including kindergarten children) should start online teaching. All kinds of training institutions and custodial childcare institutions should suspend offline childcare services, and Colleges and universities should take closed management from March 14th.
Shanghai’s authorities ordered several districts in China’s commercial hub into partial lockdowns, as health officials sealed off neighbourhoods including the area around ByteDance’s head office to contain an outbreak of t the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 320 infections had broken out across the city in the 10 days since March, threatening to blemish Shanghai’s much-lauded deftness to keep the disease at bay, where only 400 infections and seven deaths were recorded in the two years since Covid-19 broke out.
To fight against the latest wave, Shanghai has closed down dozens of major entertainment venues including theatres, museums and music halls. Besides, Many universities in Shanghai, including Fudan University, TJU, SHUFE, and ECNU, have also started closed management since March 13th.
Shanghai moved to tighten control the flare-up on March 12nby telling residents not to leave the city if it's not necessary and suspending long-distance coach transport services.
As of 24:00 on March 13, Jilin province, has been particularly hard hit, reporting 895 new local cases and 131 silent cases. Currently, three makeshift hospitals with 6,000 beds have been put into use in Jilin City, Jilin Province. In addition, Changchun is also speeding up the construction of makeshift hospitals.
Apart from the cities mentioned above, many other cities have also reported cases, such as Xi 'an, Xinjiang, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Suzhou and so on.
