July 18, after a whole month of Ramadan, the Eid al-Fitr of 2015 is coming.

According to Islamic law, each September in Islamic calendar is the Ramadan month. In this month, every healthy adult Muslim should be fasting every day for a whole month, from dawn to sunset. During the fasting hours, any eating ,drinking or sexual intercourse are not allowed. On the evening of 29th in this month, if the crescent show up, the Eid al-Fitr will be the next day; otherwise the next day will still be a fasting day, and the Eid al-Fitr will come after, in order to celebrate the completion of fasting month.

The Eid al-Fitr started since the second year of the Islamic era. Thereafter, every year this festival comes, Muslims in all over the world will gather together with great enthusiasm and strong belief. According to the customs of different regions, the forms of celebration have differences. Some people prepare fried cake to serve their friends and relatives ; some will request an Imam to chant Quran ; some people get together to hold parties. Nowadays, the Eid holiday has become a traditional Muslim festival.
The Eid al-Fitr lasts for 3 days. In the first day of it , every family will get up early, to clean the yard, toilet and alley to create a clean, comfortable and pleasant environment . All Adult Muslims will take a bath and put on their favorite new clothes, children will clean their faces and make their hair clean and tidy .Mosques will be repaired and cleaned up before the holiday, some places will specially hang a huge banner saying "Best wishes of Eid al-Fitr” with shining lights.

At about 8 AM ( some places will follow the ringing of bell), Muslims will bring blankets and gather in the mosque from all directions. Sometimes, people will find another flat, spacious and clean places if a mosque cannot hold a large quantity of Muslims. When the imam announces the beginning of the ceremony, Muslims will take off their shoes, lay on their blankets, bow to the direction of Kaaba temple of Shrine Mecca . After the Eid al-Fitr Ceremony, all the Muslims say “Salam” to the imam then to each others, to express the best wishes of the festival , meaning peace, good fortune, wealth, harmony!
On that day, every muslims family would make “Zakat Al-Fitr”, which means charity donation to the poor (about 1.2 kilogram of wheat flour or equivalent cash), to help the poor to enjoy the festival together .On the first or second day of the holiday, sons-in-law will visit parents-in-law with presents, and many young people are getting married on that day, making the holiday more and more lively. During the Eid al-Fitr, Muslims will do more for the elderly, friends, orphans, widows and the poor ,who are forgotten normally , pray for Allah's permission through the mutual love and selfless contribution.
However, the end of Ramadan doesn`t mean the completion of worship of this year, but means taking this month as an example and pay more with strong faith in coming days.
The spirit of Muslims` perseverance is worth our admiration and learning.
