What is study visa?

A study visa, just as the name suggests, refers to the visa for those foreigners who need to study in China.

There are two kinds of study visa, namely, X1 Visa and X2 Visa.

X1 Visa

X1 Visa is issued to those who are going to study in China for more than 180 days.

For example, a 4-year undergraduate program in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, or a 2-year MBA program in JinanUniversity will all require a X1 Visa.

X2 Visa

This visa is issued to those who plan to studyin China for no more than 180 days.

Few would apply for this visa. And it’s just chosen by those who need to participate in a short-term study program in as pecified school in China. For example, if you need to study in a Chinese Language School, you will need X2 Visa.

Notice

Study visa holderscan neither be involved in any trade activities nor work at any company!

In China, there are approximately 200,000 study visa holders who don’t actually study in school, but just conduct trade, work in a company or rent a stall and do someretail business in China.

Here’s a true case of one of our customers.

The customer had obtained a study visa, but herarely went to school. He kept doing this for such a long time so that the school reported it to the Exit&Entry Administration, who then canceled hisstudy visa. Since the administration would not inform the student of the visa cancellation, he didn’t realize that he had overstayed, which cost him a largeamount of fine.

So, we want to tell those friends who come to China with study visa -- please don’t take it for granted that you can stay in China and do anything you want as long as you have a study visa. Having any bad visa record would negatively affect your future investment, work, or residence in China!
