
Recently, the local Customs of India has issued new Customs Regulations.
Since April 2017,the consignees must submit all the documents and files for customs clearance before the second business day of the arrival of the goods. Otherwise, there will be a delay surcharge.

Delay Surcharges
Please refer to the form as follow but the specific surcharges are subject to the local Indian customs.

According to the regulations, the delay surcharge will be paid by the consignees.
Since then, consignors had better to remind the consignees to prepare all the documents for customs clearance before the arrival of the goods in order to avoid any delay and fine.
Tax for Maritime Service
Previously, India caused a great controversy since the affair of collecting 4.5% Maritime Service Tax. But on April 13th, India issued a new regulation on the tax(Notification No. 15/2017-Service Tax).

Since April 23rd, India collects the 4.5% Maritime Service Tax only from the Indian importers.
In addition, if the goods are boarded after April 23rd, this kind of tax will not be showed on the Prepaid Ocean Freight Invoice offered by the shipping companies any more.
