Procedures
Test Requirements
❶ If you want to apply for Type-C Chinese Driving License (valid for 6 years) with your country’s Driving License, you need to pass a written exam in the Department of Traffic Management.
* Written exams can be done in English or Chinese. However, in some small cities you may be forced to do them in Chinese (sometimes they may allow you to bring a translator). On the other hand, in some main cities of China, you may even find exams in languages such as Spanish, French, German or Arabic.
❷ You must pass the driving test within 3 years. (Pass by getting at least 90% of the answers right.)
Necessary Documents
❶ Your valid passport and residence permit or Chinese Visa with at least 90 days of validity(original & photocopy).
❷ Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors issued by local police station (original & photocopy).
❸ Foreigner Physical Examination Form that shows you are in healthy condition.
❹ Valid Driving License from your home country (original and photocopy).
❺ Certified and notarized translation of the Driving License from the home country to Chinese language.
Cannot-apply Cases
🚫 Your oversea Driving License is overdue.
🚫 Your oversea Driving License is a temporary one.
🚫 Any driving restriction noted on your License.
Exam Tips
The exam consists of answering 100 multiple choice questions, lasts 45 minutes.
