December 30th, 2014, the People's Republic of China Consulate General in Erbil held the opening ceremony in Erbil, the capital of Irap`s Kurdish Autonomous Region .

In the speech, China Foreign Minister noticed the strongly support from china by means of founding the consulate in Erbil, and showed the willing to cooperate with Irap. The prime minister of IKAR believed that a new opportunity would be brought to improve the relation between China and Irap.
在讲话中，中国外交部部长表明了中方对伊拉克人民的坚定支持，同时展示了与伊方合作的强烈意愿。库尔德自治区总理亦相信，此举将为中伊双方关系发展带来新机遇。
The consulate is under construction orderly these days , and the condition of making Visa is not ready , but the Consulate General is trying its best to supply excellent services to people there as soon as possible.
目前总领事馆建馆工作正在有序推进，尚不具备办理签证等领事服务的条件，总领事馆将竭尽全力创造条件，争取早日为在库区的中国公民、伊拉克、库尔德和其它外国朋友提供优质的服务。
