Many foreigners live and work in China. Before work started, a lot of application procedures are required. What if you want to change your work one day? Many materials must be prepared. Here are some useful information for you.

For foreigners who hold the valid work permit and want to get a new job in the same occupation, the last employment unit should apply the cancellation of their work permit, and the new employment unit should apply the work unit change in the original issuing agency for them.
The Required Documents
For New Employment Unit
Job application form for employ foreigner. (Checked and commented by Municipal Public Security Exit& Administration Bureau)
A copy of Business License of employment unit. (Branch office need to provide the business license of head office else)
Application report for work change.
For Applicants
Certificate of deregistration for your original work permit.
Passport in valid
Complete, detailed work experience.
Job offer from employment unit, included the information about sector, position, specific job, work duration and signature of applicant and stamp from employment unit.
Certificate of highest degree ( professional qualification certificate)
Certificate of criminal record.
Other documents rely on local policy.
Attention
Application unit should guarantee all documents are true. If any place are modified, the place of modification should be stamped to give a clear indication.
All copies need to be stamped the official seal of employment unit and indicated to “copy is consistent with the original”. If copies are not required, you have to take the original.
Foreign language documents should be translated to Chinese. ( stamp by translation unit needed)
Applier’s signature must be consistent with passport. If there is no signature in the passport, English signature in common use is valid yet.

In some situations, applicants are not allowed to apply for work change, so they need to go through the procedures of foreigner work permit application again.
Work on a different occupation.
The chief delegate or common delegate of Resident Representative Office of Foreign, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan’s Enterprises leave the original employment unit for working in another Resident Representative Office.
