The birth of a baby brings happiness to the family.But here comes a question: How Can A China-Born Baby Get Passport?
After the birth of a baby, foreign parents need to bring Birth Certificate which issued by the hospital,and a few of 2-inch baby photos, the passports of the parents, Marriage Certificate and etc, to the embassy of their homeland located in Beijing,China.
The handling time depands on the the rules of the embassies. So pay attention to confirming the time with the embassy staff.
According to the government regulations, applications for Passport and Visa will be finished within 60 days.
If the embassy staff says that:applications for Passport and Visa can't be finished within 60days, then the parents need to go to the Immigration Board to register the new born baby.
After that,there will be another 120 days for them to finish the above process.
After getting the passport, the foreign parents can go to the Exit and Entry Administration of the city to apply for a family visa.The latest Registration Form of Temporary is needed.It usually takes 7 days to complete the application.
In this case,the new born baby have a right to apply for Chinese nationality.They need to go to the Public Security Bureauto settle formalities and register the baby′s residence. And then they can apply for the chinese passport.
However,if the parents choose the foreign nationality,they just do it according to the CASE A.
