Since debuting in Nice, France in 2013, the World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) has seen an ever-increasing demand from competitors (around the world.) From 12-14 December, twenty national roasting champions will take to the stage at the 2017 WCRC, hosted at Hotelex Guangzhou, in what should be one of the most exciting editions in its history.
The WCRC evaluates a number of skills—production of the best quality roast with the provided coffee; ability to evaluate green and roasted coffee, use and master roasting equipment, and develop a roast to meet a planned taste; and the ability to accurately describe the final roasted product as planned.
Fans of the competition will be excited to try competitors’ coffee, before sharing their thoughts in a new blind “audience choice” section introduced this year as part of the 2017 rules updates.

Before the Christmas Eve, the World Coffee Events (WCE) and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co.,Ltd are to host AST Live! Guangzhou in Hotelex Guangzhou. The two-days event will be launched on 10th to 11th December in Poly World Trade Centre Exhibition, Guangzhou, China.
The forum is customised for approximate 160 experienced trainers with authorised licenses, in order to strengthen the industrial network, enhancing communication and sharing updated market trends.
The training includes seminar, technique performance, practice and demonstration, providing a unique platform for the professors. Except for a series traditional test, the new coffee technique module is a highlight of the event. The licensed trainers will play a role as the host to share their unique views personally, teaching and practicing, helping trainees to pass the intermediate test.
