Open Your Private Life to Workmates or Get Fined! Seriously?

People love to share their updated life with friends on WeChat Moments (朋友圈). It's a personal matter until some companies blur the boundaries and make unreasonable rules. 

Recently, a netizen said on Sina Weibo that his/her company has made rules for Moments, banning workers from blocking their colleagues when posting updates. 

Anyone who violates the rule will be fined 100 yuan. 

He also mentioned that the company docks half-day salary for one-day leave, and collects 50 yuan for not including the company's introduction in their email signature. 

△ One of his colleagues was fined for hiding posts as he said. 

The netizen said in an interview that all the rules concerning the fine are made verbally instead of being written in the employee handbook. 

△ A screenshot of the company's notice shows that workers are asked to friend their colleagues and those who hide their posts on Moments will be fined 100 yuan. 

On WeChat, updaters can choose to show their posted content to a certain range of people, or hide all their posts. Those who cannot see the Moments of the updater are considered "blocked". 

It's still understandable to add workmates as WeChat friends. What's tricky is that when one feels like updating their Moments, whether to block colleagues becomes a question. 

Of course, different people make different choices. But after all, it's a personal matter. 

This piece of news has sparked huge discussions online.

One netizen responded: "This emphasizes the importance of having two WeChat accounts."

Another one commented: "I will update whatever I feel like, and will block whoever I want to block. I hope everyone could get along well with each other."
