1Know about Form 1000
Form 1000 is a form of GTI Visa required to be completed by the nominator.
Statistics show that applicants who have completed this form at the time of submitting their EOI have a much higher chance of being invited.
This form is updated from time to time, aiming at obtaining additional information on nominators and better evaluate GTI applicants, so it is important to ensure that you have the latest version. You can find the latest version on the website of USCIS.
While not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that you have your Form 1000 ready when submitting your EOI, so as to get invited sooner.
2Connect with outstanding professionals
If you don't know a nominator yourself, your existing interpersonal network will play a very important role.
If you are an engineer, you can ask Engineers Australia (EA) to nominate you.
Or you can tell a colleague or friend you trust that you would like to apply for a GTI visa and ask them if they may have worked with an Australian citizen or permanent resident. If they have some contacts, see if they can schedule a meeting for you.
How to find a professional to nominate has also become an important element of GTI applications, as USCIS has recently shown increasing interest in this factor. If your nominator is known through your friend, co-worker or boss, it is perfectly acceptable.

3Choose the Best nominator
Sometimes you may have several nominators for choice, then you need to be be sure to choose the best one. Try to make your choice considering aspects on the following:
✅ How prominent the nominator is in your talented field.
✅ How well the nominator knows you.
In most cases, applicants prefer to choose someone they know better and are more familiar with as their nominator. However, there may be times when a candidate nominator that you don't quite understand may be prominent in GTI's designated industry and she/he may be the right choice for your GTI nominator.
When the USCIS is in the process, they are more willing to draw on the opinions of people who know a lot about the field, rather than the opinions of people who are close to you but know very little about the field.
No matter who is the best guarantor for you, be sure to think carefully when choosing. Because you can only submit Form 1000 once.

4Do not get your nomination by trade
Although there is no formal prohibition against paying for the nomination, any interest transactions in exchange for the nomination may weaken the sincerity and reliability of it in the eyes of the USCIS. Therefore, offering compensation in exchange for your nomination is not advised at all.
5Do not submit false information
Do not submit false information or incite the nominator to provide false information for your benefit. If found, not only will you be unable to obtain the GTI visa but it will likely affect your application for Australian visa in the future.
6Do not choose a nominator who nominates more than one person
Some nominators may nominate several GTI applicants at the same time. It is not a problem in itself, but if anything goes wrong with any of those nominees, it could quickly become your problem. If one of the nominations is deemed questionable, then it is likely that USCIS will deny all nominations of that nominator.
