自2021年起，由于疫情肆虐，PU/TE邀请函就成为了众多外国人申请中国Z字/M字/F字签证的一大拦路虎。
Since 2021, the time when the COVID-19 was raging, the PU/TE Letter is a hurdle for foreigners who wish to apply for work (Z), commercial trade (M) and exchange visit (F) visas.
好消息来啦！以下人员可在中国驻外领事馆申请中国签证，无需PU函！
1、业经我国主管部门批准来华就业人员；
Those who have been approved by the expert bureau to come to work in China.
2、复工复产人员（包括已在华工作的外国人）的外籍家庭成员。
Family members of those who need to return to working China (including those are working in China).
That is to say, foreigners who are outside of China to apply for a Z visa will no longer need a PU letter, with a valid notification letter of work permit and a vaccine certificate recognized by WHO, accompanied with their family members!
For foreigners whose family members are already working in China, they can apply for an S1 or S2 visa with only proof of relationship and a vaccine certificate recognized by WHO.
PU letter is still required for application of a M visa or F visa, and applications fortourist visa and student visa have not been resumed yet.
It has been confirmed that Los Angeles, Singapore, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland have begun this policy.
但目前驻外机构还未发布相关官方公告，尚未清楚是否所有驻外机构都接受免PU邀请函，建议申请前咨询相关驻外机构确认。
However, since that the authorities have not issued relevant official announcements, and the policies of different countries are different, it is not clear whether foreigners from all countries are accepted with PU letter. You’d better consult the relevant overseas embassies and consulates for confirmation before applying.
