埃及苏伊士运河管理局17日发表声明说，将于2023年1月上调苏伊士运河的船舶通行费，具体为游船和运输干货船只的通行费将上调10%，其余船只通行费将上调15%。

The Suez Canal’s transit tolls will increase by 15% for all types of vessels and 10% for dry bulk and cruise ships starting next year, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) announced in a statement on Saturday.

能源价格、运费等不断上涨，是本次上调通行费的主要原因。

The authority said rising energy prices and freight rates predicted to continue next year, are the main reason for raising transit tolls along the vital canal.

而在今年3月份，苏伊士运河相继两次宣布上调通行费。3月初，曾宣布上调费用；3月22日，埃及方面再次宣布5月1日起提高通过苏伊士运河的船只过境费，包括载油油轮的过境费。此次是继3月初公布两次上涨后的第三次宣布上调过境费。

In March this year, the Suez Canal announced two toll hikes in succession. In early March, it was announced that the fee would be raised; on March 22, Egypt once again announced that it would increase the transit fee for ships passing through the Suez Canal, including that for oil tankers, from May 1. This time is the third increase in transit fees after two hikes were announced in early March.

The Suez Canal, located on the border between Europe, Asia and Africa, is one of the busiest sea routes for world trade, connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. About 10% of global maritime trade must pass through the Suez Canal, which is one of the main sources of Egypt's national fiscal revenue and foreign exchange reserves.

据有关数据显示，苏伊士运河今年8月通行船只的数量达到2125艘，高于去年同期的1884艘；8月船只通行费收入同比增加32.4%，达到逾7.4亿美元。2021至2022财政年度，苏伊士运河“过路费”总收入达70亿美元，较上一财年增加20.7%，且是连续第五年保持增加态势。

According to relevant data, the number of ships passing through the Suez Canal in August this year reached 2,125, up from 1,884 in the same period last year; the toll revenue of ships in August increased by 32.4% year-on-year, reaching more than 740 million US dollars. In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, the total revenue of Suez Canal "tolls" reached 7 billion US dollars, an increase of 20.7% over the previous fiscal year, and it was the fifth consecutive year of growth.

SCA主席奥萨马·拉比 (Osama Rabie) 表示：“（通行费）增加是“不可避免和必要的”, 而且由于当前的全球通货膨胀，航道运营、维护和海事服务的成本都有所增加”。

“The (tolls) increase is inevitable and is a necessity in light of the current global inflation, which translates into increased operational costs and the costs of the navigational services provided in the canal, “SCA Chairman Osama Rabie said in the statement.

他表示SCA 此番调整通行费结合了海运市场的变化机制，并指出与替代路线相比，苏伊士运河仍然是效率最高、成本最低的航运路线。

He said the SCA adjusted the tolls through clear mechanisms incorporating the changes in the maritime transport market, noting the canal remains the most efficient and least costly route compared to alternative routes.
