Maersk said that the first affected sailing would be the MSC Hamburg, which was scheduled to set sail from Ningbo on October 26 and serve the 2M "AE1/Shogun" round line with a capacity of 16652TEU, passing through Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Tanjung Parapas in Malaysia, as well as Rotterdam, Zebuluhe and Bremen ports in Europe.

MSC, Maersk's 2M partner, said that the voyage of "MSC Hamburg" was only temporarily cancelled, and indicated that it would be resumed within a week.

但订舱量（尤其是来自中国的订舱量）的大幅下滑，意味着三大联盟别无选择，只能对其进行合理化调整以避免即期和短期合同运价进一步暴跌，对其维持利润的长期合同产生负面影响。

However, due to the sharp decline in booking volume (especially from China), the three alliances have no choice but to adjust it to avoid a further slump in spot and short-term contract freight rates, which will have a negative impact on their long-term contracts.

As the demand continues to shrink, spot freight rates have been declining, shipping giants have to take measures to manage their transport capacity by canceling more sailings, or even terminating routes in some cases. Next, they might cancel more European routes to slow down the decline, which may lead to shortage of space.
