
If a foreigner marries a Chinese, or a foreigner marries a foreigner working in China, what visas can foreign spouses apply for to stay in China?
There are 4 types for you to choose from!
If your spouse is Chinese, you can apply for a reunion visa. If you want to stay in China for more than 180 days, you can apply for Q1 visa. If less than 180 days, you should apply for Q2 visa.
If your spouse is a foreign national working or studying in China, then you can apply for a family visa. Similarly, stay in China for more than 180 days, you should apply for S1 visa. Otherwise, you should apply for S2 visa.
If you want to work in China, you need to apply for a work-type residence permit. There are two ways: one is to open a company in China, and the other is to find a Chinese employer.
Moreover, being the spouse of a Chinese citizen or a foreigner with permanent residence status in China, you'll have the opportunity to apply for permanent residence in China!
You need to be in a marriage relationship for at least five years, with at least five successive years of residence in China and at least nine months of residence in China each year, and have stable source of subsistence and a dwelling place.
