

Minors are generally valid for five years, adults are generally valid for ten years.

If the certificate is damaged or lost, it is necessary to apply for replacement in time.
When the renewal conditions are not met, the renewal will not be possible, and even the permanent residence already obtained will be cancelled.

Foreigners who have been approved for permanent residence in China according to the Measures for the Administration of Examination and Approval of Foreigners' Permanent Residence in China shall reside in China for a cumulative period of not less than three months per year.
If the applicant is unable to stay in China for a total of three months per year due to actual needs, the applicant shall obtain approval from the public security department or public security bureau of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government of the place of long-term residence, provided that the applicant shall stay in China for a total of no less than one year within five years.

After the divorce of a foreigner who has obtained a Chinese permanent residence permit, the validity and effectiveness of the permanent residence permit will not be automatically cancelled because of the divorce.
In other words, after the divorce, the foreigner can still enjoy the corresponding rights and convenience by virtue of his permanent residence status in China.
However, when a new certificate is issued at the subsequent maturity, the conditions must be met before it can be renewed.
