Are you planning to work in China? Foreigners seeking employment in China must hold at least a bachelor's degree, which is a prerequisite for obtaining work visa and work permit.
Therefore, a crucial step before applying for a work visa is to complete academic credential verification. Without it, obtaining a work visa or permit may be challenging.
For many foreigners, their academic degrees may have been obtained outside China. So, they need to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is the official proof of the validity of their academic qualifications!
So how can we authenticate an academic degree?
If you're outside China, start by getting your credentials authenticated by your country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then bring them to the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country for further authentication.
If you're already in China, you have two options: contact the embassy of your degree-awarding country in China, or seek authentication from Chinese academic credential agencies.
For Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan diploma
For qualifications obtained in Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan, you can either seek authentication from mainland China's academic credential agencies or get them notarized by the notary institutions in Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan.
If it is a Chinese academic qualification, it is even simpler! Just provide a scanned copy of your academic degree certificate, no further authentication is needed.
