When you live alone in China, you no longer want to communicate with your partner through a screen. How can you make the other person come to China and reunite with you?
Today, HACOS has sorted out the three-step method for couples to reunite in China for you~
Step 1
Establish your
legal status in China
To bring your spouse to China for reunion, you first need to have legal residence qualifications in China. You can choose one of two methods according to your own situation:
1
Start your own business
Establish your own company in China, complete industrial and commercial registration, tax registration and other relevant procedures, and lay the foundation for subsequent visa applications with your identity as a company legal person;
2
Be employed
Find a legitimate and compliant employer in China, sign a formal labor contract, and the employer will assist in handling relevant employment procedures to obtain residence qualifications in China as an employee.
Tip: Both methods need to ensure that the procedures are legal and compliant to avoid affecting the subsequent visa application for your spouse.
Step 2
Apply for a Chinese Work Visa
After establishing your legal status, you need to apply for a Chinese Work Visa (Z Visa), which is the core certificate for you to work and reside legally in China, and also an important prerequisite for applying for a family visa for your spouse.
When applying, you need to prepare personal identification documents, employer's employment certificate (or relevant company qualification documents), medical examination report and other materials, submit the application in accordance with the official process, and you can receive the work visa after approval. After entering China, you can apply for a residence permit.
Step 3:
Apply for a Family Visa
for Your Spouse to Come to China
When you successfully obtain the Chinese work visa and residence permit, you can apply for a Family Reunion Visa (S1/S2 Visa) for your spouse. Choose the corresponding visa type according to the duration of the reunion:
1
S1 Visa
Suitable for long-term reunion (stay period exceeding 180 days). After entering China, you can apply for a residence permit to achieve long-term companionship;
2
S2 Visa
Suitable for short-term reunion (stay period not exceeding 180 days), suitable for temporary reunion and short-term family visits.
When applying, you need to provide proof of marital relationship (such as marriage certificate), your residence certificate in China, your spouse's personal identification documents and other materials. The process is simple and the review is efficient.
Important Reminder
The core of the entire process is "legal personal status → work visa → family visa". Each step has clear material requirements and processing time limits. Only by avoiding missing key links can you efficiently complete the reunion procedures.
