Have you ever heard of Mont Saint-Michel?
You would certainly recognize it if you saw it. Mont Saint-Michel is a UNESCO natural and cultural heritage site, and a masterpiece of Western architecture built more than 1300 years ago. It is a medieval village that lies on an island off of Normandy. We are very proud to introduce our new brand La Mère Poulard, which is an integral part of the history of Mont-Saint-Michel and of France itself.

Mont-Saint-Michel is where Annette Poulard fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening an inn in 1888. La Mère Poulard is the historic heart of the medieval village. Her hospitality talents were soon acknowledged, and she was given the honorary title of “Mère,” a distinction recognizing her great abilities in the kitchen and for her contribution to the culinary traditions of France.

Annette Poulard called her biscuits « My Lucky Charms » and offered them to children and pilgrims, wishing them: « Enjoyment Good luck! Happy life! ».
For Annette, 1888 was a magical year for the three 8s, a symbol of Mont-Saint-Michel, founded in the 8 th century and the 8 th Wonder of the World.
