“世界头号回收恶棍”的洗白之路
早在2017年，品客薯片就因其难以回收的产品包装而饱受诟病。英国回收协会的CEO Simon Ellin更是指责品客薯片筒为“回收噩梦”甚至是“世界头号回收恶棍”。在一场新闻发布会中，Ellin严厉地谴责道：“究竟是什么样的傻瓜才能设计出这么难以回收的包装？”
面对批评，品客的发言人表示，公司将会严肃对待这一问题，承担起应有的社会责任，并且将持续努力改进包装以减少对于回收和环境的影响。
Simon Ellin, CEO of the Recycling Association, said that Pringles tubes are a “nightmare” and “the No.1 recycling villain,” according to Harrabin. During a press conference in London, Ellin continued to give Pringles a tongue-lashing. “What idiot designed this in terms of recyclability?”
Responding to the criticism, a Pringles spokesperson said, “We take our responsibilities to the planet we all share seriously and are continuously working to improve our environmental performance,"

The current container for the potato-based snack was condemned as a recycler’s nightmare. It's a complex construction with a metal base, plastic cap, metal tear-off lid, and foil-lined cardboard sleeve. The Recycling Association dubbed it the number one recycling villain–along with the Lucozade Sports bottle.

The Recycling Association said many manufacturers needed to rethink their packaging. It is necessary to reduce packaging and replace disposables with reusable materials.
Suntory, makers of the Lucozade Sports Bottle, said it was working on a new material made entirely from seaweed extract that was 100% edible, biodegradable and compostable.
而对于普通人而言，做好垃圾分类，扔掉饮料瓶前注意去除不可回收的塑料纸包装，便是我们对环保事业作出的贡献。垃圾回收和环保事业任重而道远，即使一些微小的改变无法彻底解决全球的生态危机，但只要有更多的人愿意关注生活中的环保细节，那么我们依然可以贡献一己之力，为环保事业添砖加瓦。
Be sure to remove the plastic film label, which isn’t recyclable. Environmentalists say that trivial changes like these won't solve the world's ecological crises - but on a large scale they'll make contributions.
