鸟山明（Toriyama Akira）是有史以来最有影响力、最畅销的漫画作家之一。

其最为著名的作品是漫画《龙珠》（Dragon Ball）系列。作品自 1984 年问世，即在世界各地爆火，并衍生除了动漫、游戏、电影等漫改产物及周边。

In 1989, it was adapted into an anime and soon became one of the most globally recognized pieces of Japanese media. It has sold 260 million copies altogether, according to his studio.

“It’s our deep regret that he still had several works in the middle of creation with great enthusiasm,” it said. “He would have had many more things to achieve. However, he has left many manga titles and works of art to this world.”

噩耗传出，日本乃至世界各地的人士都对此深表哀悼。

In a news briefing, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshimasa Hayashi, said the government was "deeply saddened by the news" and offered his condolences to the late author's family.

日本内阁官房长官林芳正（Hayashi Yoshimasa）在新闻发布会上表示，日本政府“对此消息深感悲痛”，并向鸟山先生的家属致哀。

鸟山明的去世也在中国微博上引起了哀悼，相关主题的浏览量达 4000 万次，引发热烈讨论。

China's Foreign Ministry said the country wanted to “express our deep condolences over the death of Mr. Akira Toriyama and our sincere sympathy to his family.”

中国外交部表示：“我们对鸟山明先生逝世表示深切的哀悼，向他的家属表示诚挚的慰问。”

日本知名艺人梶裕贵、古川敏夫等也在X（原Twitter）上发文悼念。

"Thank you for creating a manga that represents my youth. Rest in peace," read a post on X.
